Yes and yes. Don't recall him playing too many games for the Bullants.

I tend to agree with the OP re Hadley adding that 'inside' grunt that our midfield rotation is a little short of. If we are actually to make top 4 next year Hadley will need to have a big year i suspect.

Agre with everything you said Blue Dawn.

Will be an interesting pre-season for AB and Hadley.

As has been identified, both pretty much fighting for the same spot........hear that folks......we have two guys fighting for the same spot in our team.........this = DEPTH.:thumbsu::D

Some of you younger ones might not recalla time when we had this so don't be afraid......its a good thing.

FWIW, I think Hadley at his best is a better player than Bentick.

The issue is obviously fitness.

The other thing is AB changed his body shape a lot last year and really worked hard on his running. He may well surprise a few over the pre-season......but he does need to improve his disposal by foot and decision making.

I'm looking forward to pre-season already.:D

Hads is a walkup start in our team if fit. Watch the early games and watch the clearances in slo mo, you see hads blocking and Judd running through the hole time and time again. Has better skills and better decision making than Bentick. Kicking also has some penetration.

I think he was on the same U18 tour of Ireland as Judd and they are mates from back then. I think he stayed with Judd for a while when he first came to melb. He is also deceptively tall, very strong and could almost play as a KPP if he had to.

Injuries are the thing that will stop hads, needs to get his body right, lesser players would have been dropped long ago, hads needs to get a few games under his belt, I'm sure he knows that as well as anybody.

If he can get his body right over the Summer, I reckon he'll be a massive inclusion into our 22. Hard at it, and would be the ideal type who could really help Judd out around the clearances. Would be great to see him play 15+ games next year.
I do agree,he look good and he is one of the best in knowing how to protect Judd and block incoming players near him but you get the feeling his body is cursed. It's either a real good year or doomed injury that finishes him.

Wish I had the tapes to view "time and time again" some more of the Hadley myth - I do not even remember Judd doing much in the early games !!!

What myth??? The guy was a solid contributor earlier in the year.

As for Judd not doing much early in the year, I think you need to get off the piss. He tore it up in rounds 3,4 and 5, and coincidentally Hadley had pretty solid games in those rounds as well, averaging 16 touches, 7 tackles and 4 clearances.

I don't think Hadley is the saviour that will deliver us to premiership glory, but he would be in my starting 18.

LOL
We trade pick 52 for Hadley.
Pick 52 was Bradd Daziell.
Rather Daziell than Hadley:thumbsu:

We've all got a PHD is hindsight ;)

We should have got the drum show (drummond) is we wanted an injury prone lion. We don't have a quarter back like gilbee or drumshow in our team. Bentick = younger uninjuried hadley (hadley is NOT kouta! two knee recos spells career over 99% of time)

Do we need another Trent Sporn?

Sporn won a rising star nomination before disappearing off the face of the earth.

Our first goal in round 21 came from Dalziell running fifty metres with the ball and kicking it straight into the arms of Grigg.

He can't kick.

The era of Wayne Hughes specials ended in the last draft and with the delisting of Benjamin.

everyone's saying, "if he can stay fit" and to an extent, i agree. However, can someone inform me what year that happened last?

curiously yours

2004.:D

I see what you are saying, but there aren't too many that get through full seasons nowadays.

Someone should start a thread on exactly how many players played all games.....like trivia thread.......brilliant idea me thinks.:D

Anyway, he has played in two GF's and is a good player. With any luck he can get his body together and he will be a good player for us.

Hadley when fit will be in the starting 18, has a strong body and is very skilled. Needs a massive pre-season and get his body right when onsong will add heaps to our club and team.

Sorry to intrude on your board, but TheGeneral had put his foot in it again. Clearly you feel somewhat threatened by Dalziell General, and I don't really get why, I mean you even dedicated your signature to him for a period. You seem happy with the Hadley trade as are many of your teammates, thats great. So why the angst from you?

I cannot speak for TG but I will put in the reason why the mentioning of Dalziell in every Hadley related thread gets annoying.

When we speak of Hadley it almost immediately gets turned into the discussion of how we "lost" the trade with you because Dalziell looked good from when he made his debut.

I imagine that TG's angst would be from the countless morons that like to compare immediate impact to the longer term goal.

Fair enough I guess, but if supporters from any club looked at some of their drafting decisions in hindsight they'd find 50 reasons to neck themselves. ;)

Sure, but this isn't one of those cases for us.

Most of us are confident that if he gets his body right, Hadley not only is in our best 22 but will be a very important player for us next year.

We most probably wouldn't have taken Dalziell at 52 in any event.
