Prediction Richmond can & will win the flag in 2020

Wasnt the sydney match a day game? Also the melbourne game was too just before we left for the hub

We are looking bloody strong. Hopefully the gods will smile.

I can only see us being beaten one of three ways:

1. Precision Possession based football to work through our defensive setup. No one is looking solid in the league at the moment and I think our defence is right on form at the moment with wingers and midfielders helping down back so we can slingshot forward.

2. Getting smashed in clearances against a team that has the ability to really punish you for it - mainly with a dominant big forward clunking the ball going in quickly. Port this year, Pies and Dogs in 2018. Port game this year especially interesting - Dixon killed us and we were smashed in clearances. I think a fit Astbury is a huge in for us - allows backup if the inexperienced Balta having a bad day, just more grunt, and can take the second tall against a team like WCE. I can’t see Port/Cats/WCE winning without huge games from their monster forwards and again our defence is miserly and well structured.

3. Just plain old being unlucky - injuries - especially in game with fewer rotations, costly umpires, an oppo team having a one off four quarter game out of the box, illness in the camp, the bus breaking down on the way to the game........

We are favourites for a reason and should have some confidence in our system.

Yes agree. I think this is the best team we've had in the past 4 years and not sure the oppos are as good as previous years either so it's really there for the taking.

I would add a point 4, which is getting dominated in the air. This happens sometimes and is a slight possibility without Soldo.

Usually in finals we are a lot better in clearances and the past couple of weeks I noticed we've stepped up there.

Still there and we only played badly because of injuries.
This year it’s completely different.
There are so many things wrong I don’t know where to start.
Won’t make the 8 but with some shrewd trading and drafting and some retirements, we could contend again in 2021.

After losses to Saints and Hawks and draw with the Pies it generally looked like the team didn't give a f. Questioned the hunger based on what the COVID situation would do to the players mindset having already climbed the mountain twice.

4. Ultra flood. Our losses against the shit teams this year have all been against the flood where the oppos sprinted back to completely fill our forward line. We'd piss fart around trying to find someone on a lead and then they'd have someone floating out on the wing waiting for the quick rebound.

It ended up a shit game and low scoring but we didn't know who to kick it to and lost in a shit fest. That's my main fear that one of St kilda, Bulldogs or maybe pies try it and win in a huge upset. Unlikely any of them make it far enough to try though.

West Coast can't play in Brisbane, Brisbane are our bunnies and Geelong has a coach that persists with his own boring game plan. Maybe port will try it, but they are all about kicking to Dixon.

Short quarters have turned out to be like 6-6-6.

Brought in by Whateley and Hocking with intention to hurt us but we adjust and make it work to our advantage.
