The demographics of the area has changed so much since the days of the Sharps.

Unfortunately successive government policies of tariff reduction has killed the manufacturing industries the unskilled migrants who populated the area 40-50 years ago were reliant on. Resulting in lower living standards.

For various reasons the area is now home to large concentrations of Asian, Indian and Arab populations. Very different to the days of Thomaslavia.

Nevertheless, it was a great place to grow up in through the 1970's.
