Have to laugh at them criticising Chappy's disposal. He was ranked 9th at Port for effective disposals, meaning there were 30+ players with worse disposal stats than Chaplin. LOL!

I hope he does good, reality is we just need some mature support for our younger guys but there are always bitter comment when a player chooses to leave a club, you should hear the crap being said about tippet here in adelaide!!

1000% spot on.

Read this and scroll down to who after round 14 was the 28th best in the league for eff kicks that hit a target.

[Edit- This needs more exposure. It shows Chaplin (admittedly only after 14 games) as in the top bracket by foot under pressure. I remember Dimma saying when he came to the club that they would only take players who had quality disposal. Well going by this article, Chappy is streets ahead of the players we have now]

Bling to Adelaide for:
#47 (Helbig) & #26 (Elton) and second round compo (currently #29)

I almost feel guilty.

Its almost a McMahon story, maligned player provides us with great talent. and who said Terry Wallace didn't know what he was doing? The prophet list manager

Ahhh Jordy McMahon, in hindsight, great foresight by him. We hand the Dogs Callan Ward, now at GWS, and he hands Melbourne Picks 1 and 2, one of which, is at GWS. So, everything he was involved in, and criticised for, has worked out in his favour.

Don't forget giving us the great Dustin Martin.

Think it was actually #53 (who we took McDonald with), Elton and 2nd Round compo. Haven't looked back or researched it but i'm pretty this was the deal. Wasted the pick 53 on McDonald but as long as we get a very good youngster with pick 29 and Elton (who i have high hopes for) becomes a good player, we still win & will do very well from the trade. Shame about pick 53 though, we stuffed that up.

Just took it off Wikipedia, so they could be wrong.

Damn. Johnson was/is a great get by the Swans. I had a feeling at the time that we wasted that pick on McDonald; shows we still have some flaws in our recruiting. Always looked overweight, no tank and was really a dissappoiting selection by us.

I was at the 1st training session the guys attended that year , And was with another board member from here Conca,Batchelor,Helbig all looked pretty good and were running laps etc ........... McDonald was miles off the pace and really struggling & I even wrote a training report about it at the time (you should find it in my previous post)

I was horrified that we drafted him with the fitness level he had, Struggled to do 2 laps of Punt Road Oval, What a waste of a pick
