Could farrer be a better (closer) comp than rfl next year with all the rfl clubs looking a lot weaker bar gggm and most farrer clubs stronger. Not saying any of the farrer clubs would win the rfl this year but with McDonald, jb and hugo to tryc they look real good, gullie has similar side to last year , marrar not too bad and jets and rivcoll picking up a few farrer starting to look pretty good. Are the players rivcoll picked from tigers any good or have they done their usual trick of paying reserve graders to play firsts.

farrer should def close the gap this year with all the clubs gettin some big signings with the hope of being promoted to the rfl so competition should certainly improve. although would be hard to see any of the current farrer teams being better than ganmain but the likes of the rock and gullie could def mix it with the rest of the rfl. as for rivcoll id say jake stockton was the only reasonable pick up although didnt play alot of footy this year so could take a while to get back to his best if at all. but dnt think they can make rivcoll a better side

Would it be possible for someone who is in the know for each club (farrar & RFL) to make up a bit of a list of the ins and outs for each club. Or in tigers sake they need only fill in the outs column.:D:D Ill start with a few that i have heard of. Oh yeah, p.s. they dont have to be true either.

COME TO KILLARNEY VALE!! - POSITIONS VACANT
Senior players wanted for Killarney Vale Bombers Australian Football Club for season 2010. The Killarney Vale Australian Rules Football Club is located on the Central Coast of NSW. For more details about the club see www.kvbomers.com
A club that cares enough to have a website can't be too bad. Develop and maintain - and hello out there (somewhere) to...not mentioning any names, but the initials are...North Wagga AFC website.

whats news out leeton way heard they might be in a bit of trouble this year with alot of losses and not too many gains.
smith hodge hall schoular and possibly flagg all gone and alot of young talent leaving with aaron gordon and craig townsend leaving to canberra and albury and kabe stockton not happy with the way he was treated last year looking for a new club.
welshman or 2big 2strong any idea on whats going wrong with the crows?

Yes probably not shaping up the best to add to the worries Former Max Allen (B&F) Winner Nick Patten set to be making a move up north.. Well you must not follow to much football cause Josh Hall played in Tassie last year apparently on Big $$$ in Tassie. Schoular wont be able to be replaced.

nick patten is a big loss to the club played some of my junior footy against him.. very quick and booming left foot will prob see him winning more B&F's up north next year. hall was set to play this year and did play 1 or 2 games i believe so is still a loss for the year. and schoular def irreplaceable.

and any thoughts on what will be the first big footy story of 2010?

some more high profile poaching from the "struggling" farrar league clubs

Turvey wouldn't know anything about poaching would they? Leeton might be playing in the Farrer next year by the looks of it, hard to see them beating too many teams this year unless they pick up a few.

I'm predicting Sam Hart to kick 100 for Griffith by the end of the year. The man is a freak. That's if he lasts the year in sunny Griffith. Don't expect him to train much though.

I'm pretty sure Turvey were poaching from other RFL teams also. I think it's a bit ridiculous to say it's fine to poach from the lower league but not from the RFL. You clowns from Turvey are sounding sillier every day. The whole point of recruiting is to be getting better players.

So if the farrar league will be better what is the point of promotion to the "weaker" rfl?

the farrer league isnt a better competition the farrer league has one or two teams that can match it with the rfl but as for the better competition of footbll the rfl wins hands down

Mate, my tongue was firmly in my cheek. There has always been players jumping from one club to another and between leagues. No one likes it but it will always happen. A lot of rfl players will go to the farrer to try their hand at coaching as it is a good place to start coaching. You commented that it was alright to go from ffl to rfl to play in a better league, why not rfl to ffl to take the next step in their personal ambitions if the club they are playing at will not give them a go. Naturally they might bring one or two players with them as they want to give themselves evry opportunity of being successful at their new club. I can understand the frustration some of the bigger clubs might be feeling if they do recruit someone from outside the area, find him a job and then he leaves for a nearby club, but that reflects the personality of the player as much as the club he is going to. There may also be issues at the club the player is leaving. If a player is willing to leave after just one year than perhaps that club has a problem with its structure and social life. And some players just want a change without any money changing hands.

"Match" it :p Maybe be competitive with some teams would be a better statement

My club's loss will be Ganmain's gain..... Ed Sullivan will return to the Lions this year, and is bringing one of Sydney footy's best with him, Aaron Clayden, a Tasmanian, Aust. Defence Force All Star, consistent RAAF rep, played with Nor-West in 2004, Pennant Hills in 05-07 and back to the Jets in 09, winning the McFarlane Medal and leading goalkicker in Div 3. Out and out champion. Will try to get down to watch a game or two.

Good player Eddie Sullivan. How did he go with your guys in 2009? Is he moving back to the area? Thought he may have headed to Leeton instead.

Clayden sounds like a likely type looking at his achievements. Just what all other RFL Clubs need, another dangerous player in a Lions guernsey. Is he moving to the Riverina as well?

Sully is a genius on the field, no nonsense, gets the job done. Always the bloke out of a pack last, normally with the pill, hands it to the ump, gets on with business. Was one of our best in our ill-fated finals run. From what he told me on NYE, very keen to get back to GGGM. Only fault in the bloke is he disappeared from the pub when it was his shout!!! Walked halfway to Lithgow from Richmond as well, 2am, machine!
As for Snowy, has been sent to RAAF Wagga for a year or two of training, so Sully has worded him up since he knew about it. Solid build, plays on ball and up forward, very dangerous. Seems to have got better with age, now 30, but just as valuable as anyone on the field, good off both feet, awesome in the air and on the ground. Spent a year at Brock/Burrum and another at Bright, so has played a bit down that way, great to watch. Won our B & F by miles, and the League B & F (McFarlane) by 10 votes, runner up was no mug either.

seems like gggm will go through the 2010 season undefeated and win yet another flag because is very hard to see any team coming close to beating them espec with the additions they have.
and seems like they have kept almost everyone from last year with the exception of macri's retirement and travis caroll not hanging around, are there any other outs from last years gggm side ?

Think you were a little hard on the other blokes, I would rate Lahn shepherd level with stockton already. He would have played 1st all year if he did not want to play with his mates, this kid can play. Pavitt who knows, on his day a gun - almost 40 now though. alex vanroots was probably the tigers best player through the finals and wont stop running. everyone of the blokes would have played first grade in the tigers team.
