The mighty Hoppers had a good hit out down in Finley on the weekend, signs are good for the new season, the return of Matt Hard as coach is a great thing especially with the experince gained from his stint with GWS. We will be a hard running/spreading team this year, looking forward to see what impression we can make on season 2012.

Round one on the weekend any tips or late signings frow any clubs .What did you think of Matt Molone's write up in the DA yestetday i'm not sure about Leeton as runers up have a long way too improve from last year only won a hand full at best of games .Tigers having no home games will hurt .Your throughts

Should be a tighter year than last year. I think Ganmain are still the one to beat with Gully the main contender and Narrandera, Tigers and Leeton all improving. Griffith are a bit of an unknown, might upset a few, Coolamon will drop out of the finals and Mango and Turvey will be making up the numbers.

Should be a good year of footy!

Comp is split into three tiers.

Tier 1: GGGM, Gullie, Eagles

Tier 2: Griffith, Tigers, Leeton

Tier 3: Coolamon, Leeton, Turvey

Tier 1 are flag threats.
Tier 2 are finals contenders
Tier 3 making up the numbers

Heard on the vine that Narrandera has singed Frank Iannelli and Jed Hillman from Barellan good late season pick ups this will strenghten there bottom end of the list . How did Leeton go in the night final in Brooga pre season comp and there trial vs northen jets . Have Griffith new players arrived in town yet ??

OMG____ GGGM beaten by Coolamon well done to the young hoppers might have been the best thing for them to be raided by the FFL clubs clean out the old dead wood . Has the bubble burst at GGGM?? Rest of the round went as expected.Did Griffith new players play on the weekend ? nothing in the DA paper today

From were I was sitting on the weekend I was impressed with Mango and think they will get tougher to beat as the year goes, they have good depth and plenty of youth, they will be knocking on the door at the business end. Looking at the weekends results its anyones race this year. Did Christian McPherson play for the Lions on Weekend ??

G'day. I'm Trosty (Andrew Trost). I take the odd footy photo in Canberra (Go Tuggeranong Hawks!) I used to do it for the money, but now it's for the love of the great game.

On the 21st of April I went out to Narrandera to watch some of the ex-Tuggeranong blokes go round against Collingulie. Of course I bought my camera gear. I haven't finished processing them, but the first quarter's photos are now available for your personal viewing pleasure:

Feel free to put them on your facebook page or your club page, or email them around. If you download the largest size you can even make prints from them. Please ask for help if the whole flickr thing looks a bit overwhelming.

If what I experienced on Saturday is representative of bush footy then I might have to sell up and move to the bush. It was like half the town passed through the gates; everyone was extremely friendly and it made for a great atmosphere. I hope I can get out to the Riverina more often this season. :)

Well done Trosty it looks as you have taken a photo or two it your time looks like a perfect day @ narrandera sports ground for game of footy

Tigers By 8
GGGM By 36

Not unreasonable predictions at the time, but ultimately not even close. Strange round, what happened!
Bit harsh on me there Grongey, 3/4. But get what you mean. Who would have though MCUE to beat GGGM. Coolamon after its Rd1 win would have been on top of the world but now 3 straight losses! The RFL is better for it, GGGM winning everything was getting boring.

A wide open affair this year with Turvey the only club who look to be struggling a little.

Tips for this round:

Mango by 10 over Griffith
Narrandera by 40 over Coolamon
Gullie by 13 over Leeton
Tigers by 85 over Turvey

G'Day Riverina Folk!

The first half of Round 3 Narrandera v Wagga is now available for your personal viewing pleasure:

While I am sort-of a Narrandera Eagle (because I'm good friends with the Canberra guys) I am happy for any of the Riverina clubs to use my images. I can't promise that I'll photograph every team, but I'm sure most will get a look in. See if you can get to the "view all sizes" screen on flickr; if you download the largest size then you'll have a file that will easily print up to A3 size. :)

Cheers

Trosty
