Here it is:

Looks like a pretty strong team. The rookies are going to be the difference in terms of whether their scores will be strong enough for future upgrades or even if they will get enough games.

Your weakest link I think is the backline. 2 starting rookies is a bit of a gamble. Not sure if it would be worth downgrading a premium mid to free up some cash?

Any feedback on my team would be appreciated.

Bear in mind I'm not going for a strict Gun/ Rookie strategy.

Probably my final team, so Pez go for your life

BACKS - Standard - almost everyone has Goodard gibbs and one of Deledio and Grimes - some interesting picks there with Trengove (had him at one stage myself before upgrading) and Heppell is a good pick there. Pretty strong, no real risks taken here which is great.

MIDS - OOOOH, having two premium Collingwood mids is going to hurt you when they have the bye. Also, Mzungu is injured - everyone seems to making that mistake at the moment. Apart from that, pretty good. Cotchin
is an intersting risk. I'm not sold on him. If that is Andrew Swallow listed on the field, GREAT! If it is David, i would swap him off for round one since GC aren't playing.

RUCKS - Sandi and Cox is a good combo. Cox is shaping up for a good year after injury has spoilt the last few seasons. Good back-ups too.

FORWARDS - Very strong. I think this is where all your money went though. Franklin, Roo, Goodes and Pav are all over 400,000 and then gia and Walker to back them up will give you some good scores. maybe downgrade a couple and perhaps downgrade one ofyour Collingwood mids and then get some better mids and a few better bench players.

Apart from all that, you have a good solid team in the back and forwardline, needs some tweaking but you still have 30 hours to finsih it off. good luck.

Here's mine.

This is my final team for round one unless someone spots an inujury/suspension I have missed.

I find one of three reasons why people don't respond to your RMT post...

1. You have not reviewed anyone elses and just post your team and say "rate me" (which you seem not to have done)

2. The team is so bad they just don't have the time to tell you why you shouldn't have Fev & Barlow in your starting line up this year... :p

3. The team is so good they're busy copying it down

You pick an option.

**For what it's worth though...

DEF: Good. Much the same as everyone elses with some good rookie choices.
MID: Loaded up in the midfield I see... I'd go Atley over Smith though IMO.
RUC: The proforma ruck set up... Not a bad thing. I've upgraded derickx though as I'm not sure he'll play as much as expected.
FWD: Very good. I like the punt on Yarren & Knights. Not too sure about Lamb though. Maybe wait and see the rnd 1 teams before you offload him, he'll be a great pick if he plays I just think McKernan is a touch more certain of getting a game.

Good luck champ. :thumbsu:

I would downgrade Hayes to D Swallow and then upgrade one of your forwards or backs

Good all round team but way too expensive in the Midfiled. Downgrade one of your premium mids and upgrade one of your backmen.

You've fallen for one of the classic SC tricks of loading up on lots of premiums and then not leaving much money leftover to get decent second stringers. balance it out a bit more, spend money on three or four good premium players then a host of second and third tier players and some decent rookies. Check other people's teams here and see what they've done.

Shaw not always reliable other than that backs are decent.
Martin I would be questioning what his output would be.
Sandi is hard to ignore will be in almost every team so you would be starting behind.

Any comments on my team would be appreciated

Think your backline needs some work, starting Otten and 2 rookies is too much of a risk. I would downgrade Hayes to a rookie to free up some cash for your backline. Other than that Mids and Rucks look really good. Fwds a bit risky but I've gone with a similar line up as I'm not feeling the Premiums up forward this year. Hope that helps a bit

No Sandi is a big risk, I am not a fan of Harvey apart from that nice and even across the board

Here is mine, the plan is to not waste a single thought on rucks. Bit worried there are too many risk/reward players

BACKS: No Goddard is a huge risk, I know his pre season scores have not been great but was going half paced, very consistent so don't see his value dropping a hell of a lot which means he may be difficult to get in, specially considering it looks at though you will be wanting to get Swan and Ablett into your team at some stage. Fisher and Shaw could go either way but don't really see either of them becoming a top 7 scoring backmen.

MIDS: Again risky with no Swan for reason I have given with Goddard. I like Murphy and Pendlebury picks though, will be in the top handfull of scorers for the midfield. I reckon you have one too many mid pricers there, potentially only one of them will become a keeper if any meaning a lot of trades to upgrade. Is different though and could pay off.

RUCKS: Solid, but I still think there is too much money being wasted on Petrie to have on your bench, plus Jollys best scoring days are behind him I think. Surely Sandilands 154 last week has made him a lock in all teams, will pump out regular massive scores again this year, isn't getting any shorter.

FORWARDS: Like it, only query is Hale and whether he will produce consistent scores but does give you that link with Petrie if you wish to keep him.

I'm being fairly critical but I do like your team, different to a lot of others and has the potential to pay off.

DEF: Very strong.
MIDS: Strong also. Have chosen to go for lesser mids than the top ones but still really good ones which is clever becasue it frees up cash elsewhere.
RUCKS: OKay, but you should have Sandilands really.
FORWARDS: Strong also. A lot of good players and some good back-ups/rookies.

Altogether, a very strong team, one of the strongest I've seen yet and as you said a lot of best-22 players. Great work.

I like it, but I'd reconsider starting both Swallow and Harris together, and think about adding a premium/semi-premium in the forwards. It's a big drop from Rioli to Yarran IMO.

I’m considering a bit of a risky strategy with my rucks. I’m worried that Sandi & Cox aren’t going to be at the top of their games this year, so I’m considering going with bargain basement rucks, and upgrading them later to whoever’s going well.

The extra money is going towards a couple more mid price guys.

I’m not paying the sort of attention that’s required to try and score REALLY high, I just want to win my leagues which are reasonably competitive.

Backs: Goddard, Gibbs, Deledio, Grimes, Everitt, Otten, Heppel - E: Toy, Lower, Duigan

Mids: Judd, Pendlebury, Harvey, Burgoyne, Cotchin, Krakouer - E: Swallow, Harris, Libba

Rucks: Leuenberger, Petrie - E: Bellchambers, Smith

Forwards: N. Riewoldt, Franklin, Rioli, Goodes, Higgins, Knights, Richardson – E: Matera, Smith, Darling

Obviously there’s the Petrie suspension/bye worry, so still looking at possible back ups, and I haven’t looked too much into the byes yet, changes can still be made for that though if needed.

Interested to hear thoughts on this slightly different approach.

Okay, I like the backline - a bit different, Everitt and Otten and Heppell is good after your four premiums.

Unsure about your mids, maybe need one more premium after Judd, Pendles and Harvey. Or not premium but at least really decent. If that's Hawthorn's Burgoyne, yes. If it's Port's - no.

Rucks will let you down. i like your thoughts that Sandi and Cox won't both have big years but surely one of them will. Cox was up for ages once he became a really good ruckman and now its happened with Sandi, he will continue to be good. You need at least one of them.

Forwards, good balanace here but too many ifs and maybes in Higgins, Knights and Goodes.

Overall a good side though. Some interesting risks taken.

Heres my Team, looking at making a few changes, particulary to the forward line.

Backs: Goddard B - obvious reasons.
Newman C - Seems to be consistent.
Guerra B - looks like a good price/score, should have a good year.
Hunt J - ??Not sure about hunt??
Murphy R - same as hunt

Tarrant C - with brown injured should score consistent.
INT:Stanley (might play one day), Mcgovern, O'keeffe ( both used to fill spots)

Okay. backline is very unique. i like it. Everyone has Goddard, Gibbs, Deledio so its refreshing to see this. Some risks in there too like Hunt and Tarrant but there's every chance they could pay off. Hunt is not a bad option although IMO he is overpriced.

Midfield is good, quite solid - Swan and Selwood are prolific ball winners and will get you big scores around three figures, while Deledio and Mitchell are great value. MItchell is due for a big year, like your thinking there.

No complaints with your rucks.

Forwards - okay, many problems and issues here. First two are very good, not many would have Dangerfield or LeCras but I suppose that's because of inconsistencies they have with scoring. O Hailpin is out for week one and Watts and Smedts are big gambles. Who knows what could happen?
I have to point out everyone HAD Mzungu in their team unbtil he got injured for 8-10 weeks and now he's been replaced.

Altogetrher some interesting risks taken but that's exactly the typoe of team that could win the competition because it's so different, I really like it.

I would personally not pick some of the ones you have but Iif i were you, i wouldn't change a thing part from injured players, etc. If you're still in trouble by round three, maybe then look to shake it up a bit but you still have some really decent prolific scorers in there.

It would be nice of you to take the time to rate someone elses team before you ask for feedback on your own.

Good side, i've highlighted what i would look at changing

Some okay pipes in the team:

Backs: Goddard, Gibbs, Broughton*, Grimes, Everitt, Otten, Lower (Toy, Duigan*, Hibberd)

Mids: Selwood*, Pendlebury*, Burgoyne, Boak*, Cotchin*, Curnow (Swallow*, Harris*, Wallis/Libba)

Rucks: Cox*, Keefe* (Petrie* (susp), Smith*)

Forwards: Riewoldt*, Franklin*, Rioli*, S Johnson, Higgins*, Knights*, Krakoeur* (Dixon*, Matera, Darling*)

*Denotes decent cannons

Any ideas on how to get a few multiple positioners into the midfield?
