This will be tough and if Barker can pull is through.............we should appoint him coach.
Our players are dropping like flies with Murphy and Jaskch now out also and no-one ready to come straight back in.
Menzel shouldn't play either and if Kreuzer and Jamison don't pull up..................

Simpson Jamison Tuohy
Buckley Rowe Docherty

Kreuzer Curnow Cripps
Boekhorst Carrazzo Everitt

Bell Walker Tutt
Johnson Watson Ellard

Holman Whiley Smith Walsh............this would be a win for the ages.
Yep fair enough. We don't need two talls when we Watson is just as good.

Where's Wood - perhaps we recall him and play Kreuz a bit more forward purely out of necessity?

Otherwise, go with what's available and try our best.

With only 3 x true KPPs left, I honestly can't see us winning against GWS and definitely not Hawks.

Although I thought we would lose to the Dees, and with this week's announcement - our sense of optimism could see us will our way over the line… after all the recent spoon talk, it'd be hilarious if we finished 15-16th.

Think Tutt deserves to stay on the park after yesterday's game. His run and pace were really important, particularly when he put the afterburners on to get to a contest and help a teammate out. I think there was a few instances where it looked like one of our blokes was going to be left with a 2 on 1 trying to get a loose ball and Tutt came out of nowhere to get a crucial hand in there, tackle or came away with the ball.

His disposal is still a problem. I think he runs himself into trouble a little bit by getting there so quick that he becomes a bail-out option but isn't in a good spot. Ends up needing to kick around the corner or along the boundary and has trouble hitting a target. Kind of a double-edged sword with Tutt.
I think it's his composure, rather than skill
This. There was a passage of play where he ran - all rabbit in the headlights like - toward our forward fifty, baulked a player, ran laterally toward the boundary and quite deliberately snapped the ball across his body to a free Carlton player 20M out dead in front (can't remember who sadly). Made the simple look like jumping through a bloody blazing hoop but at least he did it.

Definitely.

We only really have 4 KPP available for this game. And one is Jones.

He also said in his post match interview he was using the next 3 games to build some confidence into next year and try and earn another contract.
I think he's been pretty badly treated by the club, particularly this year. See if he can back up his performance this week.

The best outcome for all parties is he plays well enough to attract the interest of another club and we get a token 4th-5th round draft pick. We can then use that capital on our father/son bidding.

I'm just not convinced him spending a sixth year with a fourth coach at Carlton is healthy for Watson. So we extend him a year and Bolton still only picks him for 5-10 games - then what? He'd be better off in a fresh environment with no established pecking order. And if that means he becomes a star at, say, Collingwood or Brisbane so be it.

I just re-watched the last quarter, Cripps and Krueze were awesome and our defence held up well under pressure but mostly the lesser light in Watson, Whiley, Menzel, Tutt tried their hardest. Watson contested mark on a wing, ran back for contest in defence and forward then bear hug a Demon. :D:D:D
What not to deserve a contract and play time??

A club with a match committee that believes in him and will pick him each week.

I see no evidence Carlton is that club. 1 game under Barker, 9 games under Malthouse, 11 games under Ratten.

And the problem is the pecking order. He's behind Rowe, Jamison, White, Everitt, Casboult, Jaksch, Walker for game time - break glass only in emergencies. Henderson's sacking was the only reason he got a game this week.

Really disappointed Jaksch is out with an injury...really feel that he's a guy who needed game time and need to see something from him next year...he's been in the AFL system for 3 years now and barely done anything, needs to pull his finger out and get serious about his career.

We are a sneaky chance this Saturday.

Murphy out really hurts our chances, but GWS look like they are in holiday mode and our players might just crack in harder due to the new coach being announced and players playing for contracts and their spot in next years side.
Our midfield is pretty weak without Murphy, Gibbs, Thomas and Graham. So much will be left to Cripps and co on the weekend. Must admit i'm not expecting a win.

Well from the start of the years list, you can add Judd to that...

Yeah GWS are definitely big favourites since we have no midfield, but we have a chance only if GWS show up in holiday mode while our boys really crack in, and with the new coach just announced, they really should.

Not even The Crippenator will be able to deal with a triple-tag. Will he?

Unfortunately I feel he's one of many on our list who are comfortable and content just being AFL footballer. Telegraphed his lack of intensity in his first interview after being recruited.

"...it was close to home and as a priority there was a place on the list for a player like me. ” Jaksch said.
“For me, being balanced is a big part of my life, and having outlets outside of my footy is really important to me,” he said.
“I’ve only been here for two days, but I just feel so fresh, in being able to complete training after a hard day and check out from a football environment for at least a couple of hours, which is really nice.”
“I know that when I’m here I’m here to work and that when I roll out I have my own time."

Seemed far more concerned about life outside footy than in it. Makes it sound like football is just a job Jaksch tolerates in order to have an AFL lifestyle :(

Too true :(

Lets hope he makes it, a young talented KPP like him is what we need.

I wouldn't worry about that too much as every player is encouraged to have friends and interests outside of football.
