Just wondering what the go is with him, has been AIS graduate, vic country u/18 last 2 years and a great footballer, why hasn't he been picked up? Would surely have to be a chance in the rookie draft.

I'm a big fan of his. Would love to see Carlton take him as a rookie.

As I mentioned on another thread yesterday, Rob Eddy has the football smarts, attitude, endurance but doesn't have explosive pace. Was caught with the ball quite a bit during the season. IMO that is his only downside and can't believe that he hasn't been offered a chance to train with a club with a view to being rookied.

Apparently he is training with Casey Scorpions and will play well enough next year with them to nab a rookie spot at the end of next year. Notice that two of his teammates from 2005, Ben Fraser and Chris Dunne are training with StKilda in the hope of being offered a rookie spot. Both showed some good form for the Scorpions this year.

I'm surprised a bit by that. Thought he would have picked up a pre-season somewhere.

A fella like that must wonder what more he could have done after a couple of years at TAC level and his form at national level with the AA honours this year.

Probably watches on as the athletes and smokies get picked up who don't even have half the junior footy creditials he would have.

Hopefully the game is just going through a phase at the moment because right now some talented footballers are missing out because their weak point happens to be their leg speed or their engine. Hopefully those in charge of the rules can find some common ground in the next few years.

Yeah he seems to take footy very seriously, i.e. not a drunken idiot. Is a genuine footballer, but like many have said thats his problem, but surely he is a good enough player to take a risk (even though its not a real risk) on...

Well deserved spot on the Rookie list for Rob. Has had to endure a tremendous amount of disappointment by not being picked up last year in either the National or Rookie drafts as well as this years National Draft. Is a quality kid who will not disappoint.
