Absolutely correct.

Last year I thought Guido was our best shot for goal, but he has been missing too many this year. Given his ability last year I would think it is only a confidence thing and he will come good.

Was interested in the comment by another that Birss looks upfield to make something happen. I have been thinking that both Birss and Hargrave are a little to quick to handpass to a player beside them rather than set things up themselves. I think it just a demonstration that they are still alittle unsure at this level and have not got the confidence yet.

I agree that Alvey does kick around corners too much.

Despite these small criticisims the important thing is that all the young blokes are winning plenty of the ball and look to have great futures as experience and confidence grows.

I know Sydney had a few out and have not been travelling well but our defence looked so good that two other guns IMO, Penny and Hahn are going to be hard to fit in. I think Penny for his height must come in but that means that someone who on form doesn't deserve it will be squeezed out. Nice problem to have!

Nothing to get to concerned about as he is generally a good kick and he will certainly come through it it has just been frustrating me a hell of alot because when he gets it inside 50 you basically mark it down.

Murphy's poise is poetic. Different player to Cameron, he is quicker. They compared him to Robbie Flower yesterday.

Murph reminds me a lot of Michael MacLean. Like Magic he is very hard to tackle because his body elongates and he is deceptivly strong when his momentum is carrying him forward. If he can learn to lay a tackle like Magic could, then I'll get really excited. Mind you I'm excited enough with him already.

Losing McLean was a great disapointment. Injury meant he didn't live up to his promise. Touch wood with Murf. Was McLean a best and fairest with Brisbane?

twice, 1991 and 1993.

I was also very sad to see him go especially as we received nothing for him. We got nothing for Tony McGuiness that year as well.

Sammy will be right TD he just needs to be given a chance to get his confidence up.

Yeah ... He should be right!

What's happened to Bowdo? Is he injured or what, cause he wasn't in the injuries list on the HUN.

Great effort losing those two for diidly squat. If you picked our best side of the last twenty years they would be among the first picked.

Did MacGuiness win the B&F at the Crows?

To those who see the Werribee games, what is the situation with Bowden?

He seems to be marking time with his football and does not seem to be any closer to senior selection. Should we put him in the same box as Wiggins or has injury held him back. (Sorry for asking a question about Bowden on a thread about Murphy but it just seemed to follow)

Bowden is one of those footballer that seem lazy. Not saying he is and its probably just his character. You want him and believe he could kick 10 for Werribee but doesn't.

I don't think ihe has been given much of a go yet. I think he'll make it. Last year this time Murf wasn't getting a game.
Defentively more advanced than Wiggins.

The commentators on Sunday mentioned the type of player Clayton likes through his Brisbane years. Good skills but needs conditional maturing. Bowden fits this.

rob murphy, how good is he?
Didnt see him beaten in a contest against the swans, even when outnumbered. Thats a premiership player. If he puts on 10 kilos he will be scary. Perfect disposal today too.

Well if you read todays herald/sun, he is very good.
Some are comparing him to the great Robert Flower!

After watching his first few games of AFL, I predicted that he will play 200 games barring injury.
His ability to read the play and poise stood out for mine.

Just after the 1999 draft, Michael Malthouse reviewed each teams 1st round pick.
I was delighted in what he had to say about Murphy.
Mick said that Murph reminded him of a young Guy McKenna......
a huge statement IMO!
In fact, Murphy was a better play than McKenna at the same age (17) he stated.

The good thing about Murphy is, there is still plenty of improvement left in him.

:D
