I know its a big call to make after 1 good game, but I was super impressed with Cambell's performance tonight on Barry Hall. Reads the play extremely well for a ruckman (the odd mistakes here and there) and provided a strong option at Full-Back for a change.

I suppose the big issue would be his mobility, but for a big man he did relatively well tonight. Sure, he can build on his motor, but with his size and strength, who knows? Long-term Full-Back solution or just stick him in the Ruck?

N.B - I felt Taylor did well in the Ruck tonight as well. :thumbsu:

Yep, there's something to work with at full-back with Campbell. Was particularly impressed to see Campbell manouevre Hall off the ball and take an uncontested mark in the second quarter (IIRC). Noted with interest that Rocca threw Dawson around like a rag-doll at the Box Hill North Ballarat game until Dawson went off injured.

However, it should be noted that Hall still kicked 4.2 and gave away a couple of goals. Balancing that with the fact that we were killed by the Swans tonight, I thought that Robbie did pretty well. He'll be in my votes when HHQ goes back up.

Weeks back some of us here on BF were touting Robbie for the fullback job before Zac got it. Could have cut down the season's goals-against tally down considerably.

Robbie`s best game, still need options. Also need ossie down back again. should also have enough money when judd comes home if the rumours are true.

I believe so...perhaps not Full-Back..but certainly chief 'Gorilla tamer'.
Agree ( there you go we do agree on somethings)

On the gorillas ,slow movers and thinkers, he will be great, the others will carve him up though.

Id be grooming him for the possie. Give him a go against Tredrea in a couple and Richo if he plays. Concentrate on sprints and endurance and he could be the answer.

I think we are robbing Peter to pay Paul, you all forget Robbie had his best game for us earlier this year against Fremantle in the ruck. He is being groomed to replace Spider.

Ideally if we had of made Spider captain instead of Vanders we would have given him his 3 year contract he could finish his career with us and he would be happy as he clearly isn't at the moment. We could be using Campbell down back if we kept Loates and could use him as a second ruck to Everitt but we can't do that now.

I agree about Campbell though, if we used him against Collingwood (Rocca), North Melbourne (Thompson) and Brisbane (Brown) and he kept them to half the goals they kicked we could have almost had 2 or 3 more wins up by now.

Playing trading/youngsters has hurt us. We need a key backman at the moment and we traded Hay last year because of a "youth policy" and Zac has cost us, so he did the job on Kingsley, but Kingsley has done nothing since the 8 goals he kicked before us and has always been innacurate and suffers patchy form. Above all don't automatically asume our young and talented team will be any good in three years, it's not a certainty.

If we kept Loats we would be much worse off, He wasn't up to a AFL football and the right choice was made to get rid of him, besides i don't think it will be long before either Taylor or Bailey step up.

Cambo is an obvious choice for CHB or FB as his size and strength is what we need at the present. Lets not forget about Simon Taylor either he was like a rover several times on the weekend and I would think at his height is the best to groom as a Spida replacement. Lets face it tall guy's do not get shorter and to stretch the opposition through height has always been an invaluable tactic. Look at the Chooks (though I am loathed to say it), they have height all around the ground and where do they sit on the ladder?
