Just had a 3v3 tourney jeez some players hahahaha-had both team mates cluelessly chasing everything and not defending/rotating promptly told them to get faarked and stayed in net doing nothing.....low n behold they stop holding hands chasing the ball hahaha faarkin iddiots

This match was hilarious, teammate scored the first goal and everything was going ok despite my lack of touch (4 points for a while). They manage to score the next 3 goals in a row (thanks to my ineptness trying to be too cute etc) and I actually initiated the forfeit for the team. Surprisingly the teammate elected not to and kept playing.... luckily our fortunes turned around AND the other team self imploded for the remainder of the match.
I kick started things off by doing a fluke shot at goal (might try to get the replay at some point) - airborne ball was approaching the half way point, I angled the car to hit the ball against the wall to do kind of a > style ping pong shot. They didn't stop it and it went in LOL.
Then we just kept getting the ball forward and they couldn't halt our momentum. One of them wanted to FF straight away, but the other refused.... even with little time remaining the other TM was going "it's 30 more seconds, play the game out".

Bonus lucky save, funny thing was that my other save attempts during the match were horrible. But this last gasp jump save attempt worked. Everyone that potted me during the match were like OMG
so I was a hero for 5 seconds lol.
** Also had 2 really funny moments during tournaments. Got knocked out of r1 of the first 3 v 3 event, had one decent teammate and a "silver tournament winner" teammate as well as myself. Silver tournament winner teammate only had 8 points for the match.... I was next worst along with the other teammate who actually scored. He went nuts at the end of the match but finished with an lol - "delete the game".
Second chance 3 v 3 tournament. We were up against it - got scored against within the first few seconds of the match followed by WHAT A SAVE non stop until the next kick off. I laughed it off, just being silly trolls.
The very next goal was an own goal (not by me) and those WHAT A SAVE's were totally justified hahaa.
I managed to score off a kick off deflection - and they ended up what-a-saving themselves

On the second day of the new year, I have won my first tournament for 2025
Only real concern was round 1.
Did have a few mishaps round by round but we'd recover and still dominate. I decided to stay in goal most of the time otherwise it would have been unguarded and we would have been scored against rather easily...... but in doing so I had to be like an attacking full back AFL player - defend the goal, and once getting the ball launch an attacking play...... luckily no major dramas occurred when I decided to launch forward. However I was pretty nifty in putting the ball in the right spot for the teammates to shoot for goal (and often scored).
Good thing about this win was that it was on Xbox - I've been having issues with the Xbox version of RL for months (99% of the time the controller lags which makes it unplayable at the best of times).
Here are some lifetime stats for the Xbox version as captured on the console itself (not in game). I'll do my yearly in game stats comparison at the end of the month or sometime in Feb.... Not much has really changed there, still have a similar goals per game, assists and saves per match as I do year on year... it's just my overall win percentage that either increases or decreases.

"75 days" of game time isn't bad considering its bee n my main game for donkeys years now
And yes my wins/MVP awards is very lopsided - but I blame that on being a mostly solo 1 v 1 duel player - you don't get MVP's for winning those
Two tournament wins in two nights, damn I am good at this game
Last night was on Xbox
Tonights was on the PS5. I have a love/hate relationship with the PS5 version, outside of the pc version I actually think it's the best visually and how it runs on a 4K tv. However the dual sense controller is what holds it back from being great, I suck at playing the game with that controller... it's like I'm fighting a lag that nobody else has when I use it. Making more simple mistakes like, when I should be just doing a stationary jump.... I fail at the timing, and when I should be taking a running start it doesn't go according to plan (or how it would on xbox, pc, switch etc).
My own teammates turned against me and told me to quit the game after round 1
I recovered and played much better from R2 - onward and may have won them over in the end. I decided to play it safe and stay in goal 90% of the matches, the strategy worked out considering I had the most saves of the tournament!!! I'd pop out every now and then to drive the ball forward, nabbed a few assists and scored a few goals of my own (to everyone's surprise haha).

I attempted a ball juggle to force over time, actually controlled it well enough (3 juggles, before launching it against the wall, before lobbing it in the air for a teammate to slot it in... but failed at the final hurdle
).Playing it on Xbox a lot more recently as the timing/lag seems so much better - how it SHOULD be (virtually like playing a local player vs player match). Nailing my timing of shots/blocks and playing AS I SHOULD BE playing instead of feeling like a bronze battling stiff car syndrome.

There are a lot of mistakes going on, in many instances (as in both attack and defence)
I played with two diamond ranked players last night who did EVERYTHING except for defend the goal line!!! So I took it upon myself to zone around the area.
