theres a remake.. i saw the trailer while watching 'TomCats' the other day.. hahaha..

i donno who is in the new rollerball.. but, looks like the same $hit rehashed...

Jon - a - thon ..... Jon - a - thon ..... Jon - a - thon ..... Jon - a - thon .....

This is actually one of my favourite flicks !!! I have it and "Youngblood" on the same video ....

Without going to the movie itself or the web, can you name any of the teams that played ???

I believe I have it on the same video as Star Wars and either The Lion In Winter, The Mouse That Roared or The Last Valley.

I also have Slapshot, which is a good double with Rollerball.

Mobbenfuhrer ..... Slapshot .... ha ha ha ha .... I remember seeing that at the George cinema here in Brisbane !!!! Cripes, I am getting old .....

Isn't that the one with the dorky looking twins that cut loose on the ice and turn out to be the biggest pair of brawling thugs ? And they then become the catalyst for the team's turn-a-round ?

As for Rollerball .... I remember Tokyo (they had all the asian guys skating in a row practicing punching routines as a warm-up), Jonathon E plays for Houston, and I think they beat Tokyo (that's who his mate gets killed by) in the semi to meet New York in the final (1-nil - and he is all that's left).

I love this shit .....

In Youngblood, the final game is pretty good ... especially when he blues Raki after the bell. (The coach's daughter ain't too shabby either ....)

Bugger it - I might crack all three out on video tonight !!!!

A very uninteresting observation but his mate who gets killed pitched up some time later in Dallas as Pam's (Victoria Principal) love interest.

Why my brain remembers such crap but is unable to recall my drunken antics of the night before will mystify me till the day I die(which will probable be as a result of my aforementioned drunken antics).

The one scene that sticks in my mind which to this day I don't understand, is when a group of people after dinner go out an start shooting at a tree !!! And doesn't a later scene show the tree all burnt out ... *scratch of head* ....

Of course it is - its a remake!!!!

They should never attempt to remake classics such as Rollerball.

Maddona's version of American Pie is a classic example.

Cruel Intentions however is a good example where it works if you change the setting.

Can't decide whether I prefer Dangerous Liasions or Cruel intentions more.

Probably DL due to John Malkovich and Uma getting her gear off.
