It was mentioned in a previous thread that the rookie list will go down from 6 to 4 next year, which means there'll be even more pressure than before for the rookies to hold their spot ...

49 Paul Cribbin. The Irish lad had great reviews last year but got injured mid season and didn't trouble the BOG voters much after that. You'd think this year he'd want to make a big impact and avoid injury at all costs.

41 Daniel Farmer. Got thrown a lifeline by being re-rookied. Expectations are low which may take the pressure off him.

47 Michael Hartley - NSW scholarship is outside the rookie list this season. (Does that apply to next season too, anybody know?) If he's inside the rookie list next season then that puts even more pressure on the list.

50 Shae Mac - Definately won't be on the rookie list come season's end. If he's to stay at the Westpac Centre he'll have to crack a spot into a tough team now with an embarrasement of tall prospects. Would be a fairytale if he makes it and all would wish him well.

48 Caolan Mooney - First year Irish lad. Big expectations of the lad, but surely it'll take more than a season to get his oval ball skills up to AFL standard. Would have to shoot the coach to lose his spot. Lock him into one of those four rookie spots at season's end.

45 Lachlan Smith - First year lad. The end of year squeeze makes it less likely the club will honour the 2 year contract.

43 Trent Stubbs - see Daniel Farmer.

46 Marley Williams - see Lachlan Smith.

They all have this year to prove they should remain on the list. I think Mooney and Hartley are safe, Cribbin from the sounds of it has potential. Shae you feel is only there because he's still outside the list, and Farmer & Stubbs for salary cap reasons. Who knows how any of them will go, that's the beauty of the rookie list!

Just a question, with the rookie list being shaved doesn't the main list get expanded?
