About right I would think:

1) Carlton is a young team, missing our BnF
2) Richmond are the reigning premiers (although in a very weak year), and have Dustin Martin, the best player in the comp atm.

We're just hoping to see good showings from the newbies: Dow and Kennedy in particular who we hope to partner with Cripps and SPS as our future midfield setup.

Brah. We dismantled the other top 4 sides while the Blues finished a game off the bottom of the ladder in the bottom 3 playing a mix of kids, GWS cast offs and duds. A former B&F winner has jumped ship, another is on the LTI. You've finished 13th, last, 14th and 16th in the last 4 seasons. Lance Whitnall, Josh Bootsma and Andy Collins are still considered the finest players to pull on the Mars Bar wrapper jumper in the last 20 years.

If 2017 was a 'very weak year', I'd have very grave concerns for the Blues given their inability to make any inroads in the last 4 seasons given the supposedly weak field of competition.
