Potential Mistakes: No Boak, Lloyd, Newman, Sheed, Kelly, or Constable. Having Dunkley.

Potential Wins: Rockliff, M Crouch, B Crouch, and avoiding Grundy/Gawn (and Balta). Although Grundy will be fine.

I hope that I'm not going to be knee-jerk and go chasing those I've missed out on. Not after just one round. I've done it before and it often doesn't end well.

1477 with Coniglio (C), Taranto, Witts, Newnes, Williams, and Perryman to go. It seems I'm 60 points, or so, behind the better scorers on here.

I'm hoping for 220, 100, 100, 90, 90, 80 = 680 + 1477 = 2,157. But that might be wishful thinking. Much depends on Coniglio.

2070 with only Z.Williams to go.

Big plusses were Rocky (despite the fact he and Port shit all over the Dees :'(), Sheed, Worpel, LLoyd, Brad Couch.

Negatives were Gawn, Brodie Smith, English.

Given that all of the elite ruckmen in Gawn, Grundy and Martin have all stunk it up this round, and only Sinclair and Nank as genuine rucks have tonned up (Nank needed 3 goals for his 115),
McEvoy tonned up too.

Think I’ll hold firm with Grundy. Gawn may be on the chopping block if Goldy or Witts go as well as I’m expecting them to today. Trading out a player who’s about to bleed cash for one on the rise might be a necessary way to make money this year given so many of the rookies scoring 40s.

May target Sheed for the same reason. I don’t like being reactionary and trading a premo for an underpriced premo but Sheed could well make $150-200k between now and his bye. I’m one of the ones that had him at stages during the preseason but couldn’t quite fit him in come lockout.

Short selling Gawn is on my radar - he has Geelong next and could have a high b/e for a a couple of rounds and maybe drop a 100k? before his price bottoms out... it depends on replacement options that present. How long will it take the Demons to bridge the gap with fitness?

I’d wait another week. Bolton has tried to move Ed Curnow away from tagging and into the fwd line through JLT and R1 and it’s been an absolute disaster. Fans are howling for him to be back into his normal tagging role. If this eventuates, he’ll be straight on Rockliff from start to finish.

(Easy for me to say tho as I already have Rockliff lol)
i reckon Boak is a more likely target.

How will Sheed's score be affected by Gaff returning?
Great point. I have Sheed, but it was always potentially a short term play. I’ll hold him through Gaff’s return game in round 3, but may need to flip him after that.

Edit: if I didn’t have him I’m not sure I’d be targeting him.

Yeah I’m with you there. Might just fix some rookies this week and get a better look at other guys next weekend..

I wanted him since the Grand Final but only brought him in Friday for Libba. Good move but it meant swapping down to English. Swings and roundabouts.

1997/19 with a couple of weaker links to come: Scott and Lukosius with Taranto as well.

Negatives:
Dunkley
Brodie Smith
150 from rucks
Hoping for more from Witherden but maybe Rich getting the kick ins (just guessing)

Positives:
T Kelly
All the good rookies (Constable bench unfortunately)
Bad rookies on bench only
Rockliff
Sheed
M Crouch
Lloyd
Macrae (C) pretty good with a solid tag.

My confidence in Macrae hinged on Bont getting the tag. Last night proved why you tag Bont first. Good one Horse!

Fingers crossed for a big one from my POD Lukosius. Can see him in the action - not stuck down forward. Good user. Smart decision maker

1558(C) with Shaw, Williams, Burgess, Cogs and Newnes left.

Defensive premos didn't fire a shot and the Gawn/Grundy combo was a killer.

Looks like Boak will be the main focus for me to bring in which is annoying as I had him until pretty late in the draft process. My team as a whole looks ok and should score alright, it was mainly just wrong rookies on the field that have cost me a similar score to most.

Cripps + Linc > Sheed + Worpel + 50k odd

I’m against trading guns and don’t love it. However wins on value, cash gen and points most likely + plus makes 50k for next week

Or can just trade for Worp and let Sheed be the one that got away.

Bit of a crap show from this 'so called' coach.

With all the time to finalise the team ended up in a mad panic and left Gibbons and Atkins on the field with Drew and Scott on the bench and for some inexplicable reason ended up with Mills with Lycett forward, score is 1725C with Williams and lunchmeat to come, will be lucky to break 1900.

Early days yet and trying to take solace in the fact that Selby was ranked 25000 after round 1 last year ( not comparing my skills to the master). So come lockout tonight I'm immediately booting Mills for Newman and Lycett for Worpel.
