If The_Wookie would be so kind as to put up the play where Grigg had him dead to rights and he shrugged him off like he was nothing, that would be sweet.
That was hilarious and pound for pound Grigg shouldn't have lost that contest :D Ohhh Grigga

5. Gibbs - as mentioned, immense once he was stuck on the ball in the 2nd half. If he keeps it up he will be a monster this year.
4. Judd - Started rusty but so happy to see him breathing fire again. Loved that he gave it back to Riewoldt in the first, wish more in the team would fly the flag a bit more.
3. Kreuzer - My favourite player, did not stop working and was at times unstoppable. I'd ****ing boof him if I could, such is my admiration.
2. Walker - Hope this gives him the confidence to start tearing up the forward half when Scotland returns, impressive composure and run, needed the boost of a solid game I think after a jittery pre-season.
1. Betts - Best I've seen him play around the clearances in that last quarter, really lifted the team. Would like to see him rotated through more often as we bring the likes of Buckley and Menzel into the smaller forward ranks.

BYP - Not much to write home about in general, but would give it to Lucas. Ran well, got to the right places and improved as the game went on. Needs some more punk attitude though, exudes a lack of urgency reminiscent of the old Gibbs. Bootsma did well though, will be a player with time.

Not sure how we managed to lose this game but Yarran really should be dropped back to VFL to learn how to be a better team mate after he burned McLean.

5 - Gibbs ( Was awesome and stood up when others were falling around him )
4 - Judd ( Solid work and really tried his hardest in the last half to bring us back in it )
3 - Hampson ( Forgive me for ever doubting his ability to mark the football, took a few grabs that helped swing momentum and was unfortunate that Casboult really let him down with some poor brain fades)
2 - Kreuzer ( Love this guy for the effort he brings )
1 - Walker ( Made a few mistakes but really gave it his all and looked solid running off half back)

BYP : Kane Lucas

Edit: I'll retract my comment about Yarran since I'm sure he will step up soon

Just got home. Bloody Metro trains.

5 Gibbs
4 Hampson (seriously, if our smalls had been perched IN FRONT of the pack when the big fella hit them, we would have won).
3 Kruezer
2 Judd
1 Jamieson

BYP Bootsma (by a country mile; could have gotten votes; shame about that holding the ball on the final siren)

5. Bryce - was classy, determined and effective
4. Andrew W - was in the game for the whole 4 quarters, one of the few
3. Matty K - solid all game, just wish he managed more hit-outs to advantage, great goal around the corner on the left but can't believe how wrong I got that, and I was sitting right behind him when he took the kick. Guess it'll teach me for putting my votes in before watching the replay :)
2. Chris - just for dragging the team back into it when they needed him
1. Shaun - Encouragement award really. I think I'd have preferred to give a vote to Jamison, but Hammer's marking was undeniable, shame it didn't translate into more on the scoreboard.

BNP: Kane.

1. Kreuzer BOG for Carlton over 4 quarters busted Tuggers up from half way through 3rd quarter and dominated 4th - at one stage he was taking on three Richmond mids by himself. AWESOME display
2. Gibbs had a great 4th quarter
3. Walker is a much better defender than Yarran/Tuohey and Duigan combined
4. Mitch for trying to lift the whole side in 2nd quarter signle handedly
5. Jamison for trying hard

Not having seen the footage yet but going off the radio broadcast... I see my points going as:

5. Gibbs - started slowly being played out of position yet again... when he moved into the midfield in the second half... he really stepped up and clocked it out of the park.
4. Kreuzer - Was just a monster all round. Once he starts getting some more support around him from the midfield... will start monstering the opposition big time.
3. Walker - Surprised that he was moved back into the defence... but he seriously did the job down there for us. Was a lot more composed than a couple of his fellow defenders.
2. Judd - Once again, started slow in the first and then after getting a gee up from Mick at quarter time really stepped up to the plate and once again became the player we know and love.
1. Betts/Garlett - Betts went a bit quiet after getting that knock in the first when he kicked his first goal but after he moved into the midfield, really stepped up in the second half. Jeppy was dead quiet in the first half, but broke lose in the second half after Betts moved into the midfield.

BNP: Lucas/Bootsma - Both of these guys are relatively newcomers still and they will still make mistakes. But considering that they are both still learning, this is to be expected.

I'm still trying to work out why Yarran was played forward tonight with Walker playing in defence. If Mick is going to utilise Yazz's run, wouldnt it have been better playing him on the wing with Lucas on the HBF with Walker playing as the third tall up front.

5. Gibbs - this is what I am talking about.
4. Judd - got better as the game went on, showed some real flashes of brilliance.
3. Walker - was scratching my head when he went to defence, thank goodness he did.
2. Hampson - provided a focal point up forward & set up goals for his teammates.
1. Jamison - yet again pantsed the poor man's Riewoldt.

BNP - Boots - this kid will be a good 'un.

5. Gibbs - No words, last quarter immense.
4. Walker - Mopped up everything and kept running. Pleasantly surprised by his move to the back half, should stay there at least for a few more weeks.
3. Judd - Brought us back into it the third quarter. Still inspired despite his lack of leadership role.
2. Kreuzer - Was everywhere in the last, at every contest. Just expected something to happen when he was around and wasn't disappointed often. Seemed to be the only one trying at some stages though.
1. Hampson - Looked like a forward in his build up play. 6 I50 marks I think. Kicking was questionable but gee, he was a presence in the last. Will always have his naysayers though who probably aren't even watching the game.

BYP- Lucas. Thought he did some very nice things and kept running. He also will have his knockers though.

Despite the loss some very positive signs to come from it. Thought Riewoldt was also very good for us tonight... <_<

EDIT- So yeh, basically the same as ODN

5. Gibbs - star. If only he had steadied and kicked that goal from pocket in 4th.
4. Kreuzer. Love the man - gives his all and more. Beautiful to see him running freely for the 1st time in a long time. Watch out - this is Matty's year.
3. Walker - took the game on and gave a 4 quarter effort. Helps he couldn't go for mark or goal of the year from half-back.
2. Juddy. For all those naysayers who say he's gone/cooked/uninterested - you're gonna eat your words and it's going to be soooo sweet.
1. Murph. Was battered around all night, head chopped off and hated himself after letting Jackson slip - but the Captain did ok.

BYP: Boots. Although, my DT/SC would've loved Sugar to have been better.

5. Gibbs - Just forced us back into the game.
4. Kreuzer - As above, but was outstanding across the four quarters.
3. Hampson - Easily our best forward, and was absolutely sensational in the air. Lost confidence in his kicking but was very accurate last year, hopefully he can bounce back from that.
2. Jamison - Our best defender. Won crucial one-on-ones in the last quarter when the game was on the line. Beat Riewoldt in the contest.
1. Walker - Good run all night.

Very worried about Duigan and Tuohy. Duigan's disposal is scary and he gives away so many frees (where's Laidler?). Tuohy was fumbling all night. I'm happy to back him because of his offensive attributes but he's seriously got to get cleaner.

5. Kreuzer
4. Gibbs
3. Judd
2. Walker
1. Hampson

Good to see somebody continuing on the POTY. You're a legend of the people, Wookie. :thumbsu:

5. Bryce Gibbs by this <-----------------------------------------------------------------> much. Repaying the faith I showed in getting him on membership card.
4. Chris Judd by this <-----------------------------------> much. How good was it to see him burst away from contests?
3. Matthew Kreuzer. How good was it to see him take a few big grabs? Looks to be finally back at 100%.
2. Shaun Hampson. 6 I50s should give him the 5 but unfortunately he undid his good work with ordinary finishing.
1. Andrew Walker. Very good coming out of defence though I'm not sure that I prefer him there to Yarran.

BYP: Kane Lucas. 19 touches is a better return than he managed all of last year. Looks far more comfortable, found the footy and used it pretty well too. I see a Grigg-esque development curve for Lucas, and unlike the up-and-down potato, I have faith in Kane to earn his spot in the team rather than go elsewhere for an easy game.

5. Bryce Gibbs -- Beautiful game tonight by Gibbs. All around effort. Richmond board calling him soft - was far from our softest tonight.
4. Chris Judd -- Going to be a big year for Juddy. Big big year.
3. Matthew Kreuzer -- Played great forward and back. Scary when he limped off the ground but bounced back quickly.
2. Michael Jamison -- kept Riewoldt goalless and was superb most of the night
1. Andrew Walker -- felt he was wasted in the backline but performed nonetheless

BYP: Josh Bootsma -- a few mistakes but those were more of the "he's still too small" rather than the "he's not good enough" variety.
