The main problem with you preferring cumbo is you are using a game that was effectively 6 months ago as basis of form now

The coaches will be using what they have seen over the past month and during the pre season and cumbo’s form during the pre season hasn’t set the world on fire along with reports he missed a training session last week screams to me that he doesn’t make the side

Fit and firing on all cylinders Cumbo is absolutely best 22 but based on the evidence that isn’t the case right now

Cumbo isn’t a established best 22 player so he would of been absolutely trying to make a case for himself in the 22 like Clarke has been who the club has been hyping up since the pre season camp when he came 2nd in the award and starting on field in both practice games and performing well

Like I said you need to forget about last years last game because It will have absolutely no basis in selecting the side this year when they have more recent form and evidence to go off
I think you are summising things like form, when we don't really have a clue. Yes Clarke has had a good off season but I remember a video preseason of Cumberland doing extra work when all the others were still on their breaks.

Of course you need to take in last years form into consideration, he fitted into our side brilliantly. Clarke was obviously way out of his depth when he had a crack because he was so young and undeveloped. Clarke might get a gig but I would be shocked if it was over Cumberland who has the game to go to a higher level than last year, and he was a revelation last year.

They might even use MRJ on him to hunt him down or a bit of both.
100% i would be getting Mrj to hunt Saad at every opportunity
Saad always backs his speed and holds onto the ball with slower players on his tail and with somebody like MRj he will panick and rush his kicking

Daniel Rioli in 1 game totally smashed him multiple times trying to run away from him

We will find out soon enough but for me there is far to much evidence to ignore in regards to Cumbo not being selected in round one

I really hope to see Bolton rotating through the middle very early in the game or even start at the centre bounce.

It brings him into the game and gives the team a spark.

This team is going to live and die by outscoring the oppo and Bolton electrifying the MCG early is going to be crucial.

If he is glued in the foward 50 and dimma can’t find a way to get him involved then I can’t see us winning.

yep. he doesn't have to stay with the mids but bolton should be at nearly every centre bounce. his centre clearances are explosive. especially now we have taranti and hopper to offload it to him if he doesn't get it first. nearly every time we put him there last year was a win for us

Just got back from the future. Carlton will kick the first 5 goals, we'll get back to level pegging by 3qtr time and win it by a goal.

It ends like this for carlton

MJR has the speed, not sure about the endurance to go with it. But rotation’s can fix that.
Bluues like the ball in his hands coming out of 50, he can carry opposition defensive set ups if given the space. Hurt him on the scoreboard is sure way to keep him quiet

Fox footy says we line up like this :

Mentioned it quite some time ago on another thread on your board that I believe that these two are a big chance to play, but just been confirmed a few minutes ago by the club that young Lachie Cowan and Ollie Hollands will be debuting for us Thursday night.

Any word on any debutants for the Tigs? Have heard a bit about Clarke over the pre season?
How lucky they'll be to debut in front of 90k.
Other end of scale Cadman too debut in front of 90 fans.

Don't think we can go into a game with so many offensive players in our fwd line plus 2 aging stars I n Jack & cotch.
For me the huge surprise maybe Mansell.

so are the campaigners at least going back to thursday night teams for all the rest of the games ? someone in preseason said they changed back to night-before teams again or was that just for preseason?
