Ablett should be back this week. Fantasia is going to be leaking points from here on so I think it's a decent trade. Simpson has been super consistent this year.

Fellas, a good morning to all.

Have been MIA since the weekend as I had to get away for a little holiday to get away from RDT. Spent a relaxing weekend at Mornigton with the mrs to clear my head. The blue water, warm weather and lovely spanish massuese has done wonders and Im good to go again.

Although have been smashed at work by a mexican mutt called MEM who handballs more than Priddis.

On to business now, my team is in shambles. Lost to a bloke who had moe donuts on field than my local bakery.

Am on 17 trades so need to slow down. Have Hopper already so this week am thinking just the 1 trade:

Fantasia (why the fk did I pick him and worsfold can SMG for playing him forward) > Simpson

Am hoping for returns of Laird and GAJ this week.

What does everyone think?

Is Hopper must have at 200k?

I am selecting him for 1 reason:
- I need more players from his bye round, with his performances looks like good JS.

We have seen with Parish/Mills they plateau in the mid 300Ks. I think Hopper could get to 400K, but realistically should get to ~350k and be good cover for carnage.

I don't think he is must have, but you should look at your squad and determine if he fits in

After trading menadue > hopper, hes the 'best' i can afford.
Unless i trade out j.smith for hopper than i can afford bartel.

He is likely this week, but not 100% certain.

Either way would wait a week, he has a BE of 109 afterall.

I think he will fit in with most people bye rounds because round 15 byes have been hard to come by, however we now have Mathieson who will be on the bubble after this weekend who shares the same bye.

So the question needs to be is the 70k extra we pay for Hopper this week going to pay off later with JS vs Mathieson?

As an example, I can downgrade Smith to Hopper this week and make 60k, but that's not going to help much when I try and get Oliver to reach a round 15 premo next week. I would probably be looking at a double downgrade to get to the upgrade.

However going Smith to Mathieson next week will net the extra cash required to upgrade Oliver in the same week, BUT is Mathieson going to be durable? Is he going to be enough cover when we have another week like this one with carnage through the mids? In particular towards the back end of the season when most people will be playing for league wins?

I'm not sold on Mathieson as a target but think he probably has better JS than Keays who a lot of people traded in a couple of weeks ago (myself included).

So gut says forgo points for late season cover assuming Hopper plays the season out from here, but head says points, always points, and that means downgrade/upgrade next week.

tbh mate both Londay and LAUCHT both sound like good masseuse names as would have good size behind them to reach those problem areas.

also im not sure BF is the right place to be explaining what a gooch is, that is highly inappropriate IMO.

assuming you have rocks in your head re rucks?! you obvs mustn't have gotten hit by any of the 1,432,235 injuries in the last couple of weeks to be worrying about a sauce/smartin ruck combo. honestly, give me a hand here croz...

Upgrade your whole starting 22 first, then if you got say 8+ trades + cash and bench cover left then yeah do it

I think Sauce has been more consistent than Stef and I have both of them also

Kurt Tippett is in career best form too, if you have a Cox/Chol etc as R3 then perhaps Tippett is your man instead?

From that starting 22 last week, I have made the following changes.
McPherson out - Ablett in (+40)
Petracca out - Hall in (+10)
Smith out - Hopper in (+20)
Libba out - Steven in (+30)
So I reckon those changes add 100 points to my otherwise total score (maybe a little generous). Let's say 60.
Now I realise the predictor takes into account opposition, past performances etc but i still reckon my side is in better shape than last week.
So what do you think I'm predicted to score now - 2186. A drop of almost 80. GO FIGURE????

I actually think the predictor is quite good. I wouldn't base my captain selection off it, but it is surprisingly close most of the time. And you need to take into account that those players are up against different opponents this week. So are all the other players in your team, hence the difference in the projections.

Just had a look at my team, if wells is not named:

Wells > Hopper
Brown > Simpson

Would leave 5 premo defenders Wagner/tippa d6, hopper M8, Petracca/Gray F6.

Next week i will ditch smith to mathieson if he spuds, then wagner/tippa to bartel.

Im almost set on ditching one of gray or wells this week.

Seems to have settled into a nice role with the Pies which Bucks said he will keep for the foreseeable future.

Would be a massive POD. Would be a genuine punt, but could really pay off. Definitely has been playing well. Shame you don't get extra points for a hanger. Would be a lock !!
