I reckon Brown has peaked, despite a decent score in the weekend. His score was helped by the fact he scored 3 goals against the Saints defence. If he doesn't get goals, and the ball doesn't get down into the bombers forward line, his scores will drop off dramatically.
Breakeven of 88, and FFgenie expects his price to steadily fall over the next 3 weeks. Of all my rookies, he is the one closest to his peak. Ruggles, Davis, Smith, Hewett, Petracca and Tippa all have breakevens under 40 and have money to be made.

In terms of Collins, the fact is that I needed to trade in either a forward or backline rookie for Brown. He is averaging 16 disposals in the WAFL, but I more like his job security. He is the last key defender available for the Dockers with Dawson, so I'm backing him to play at least until Silvagni returns (listed at 6 weeks). The only other Forward/Back rookies to pick from were
Dougal Howard (low JS),
Jackson Paine
Harry Marsh (just playing whilst Ted Richards is out)
Tom Cole (as above, but with Yeo)

For mine, Collins is the safest of all those options despite the fact he hasn't played a game.

Isnt howard in for jonas? The bloke who just got suspended for 6 weeks? Wouldnt he have the same js as collins but already on the bubble so potentially 6 weeks of money making compared to 4?

Dougal Howard is a forward who pinch hits in the ruck. His JS is very low.

Assistant coach has Brown slightly dipping this week and then going back up after that with decent scores. It's a massive risk bringing in someone who will probably have to play as a lockdown defender in his first game being traded in for someone who has a ceiling pushing the 100 mark. He could remove that 31 from his rolling average with a good score against Richmond and he's in the rise again, meanwhile you have a rookie who won't rise for two weeks and probably won't have a ceiling anywhere near as high if he's required to play lockdown (Saints having three good medium-tall forwards).

Massive risk and not a very RDT move, but each to their own.
FFGenie has Brown (based on his average of 66) falling $9,500 this week, gaining $9,300 the next, then falling $900 with his average base price listed at $354,000 (-3,600). I think he's the closest thing to a peaked rookie at the moment. Even once he does get the bad score out of his system, he's only going to be working back the money he loses this week.
I agree that Collins is a big risk, and one more suited to AF but I can't see the benefit in any of the other options (except maybe Howard). Right now for Freo, Dawson is taking the number one tall forward, then there really isn't anyone else. I dont really have to rely on Collins to make money as I have more than enough rookies that I will use for downgrades. The only time I expect Collins to be on the field is during bye rounds, and he should still be getting games by then.

Depends on team situation mate

I have Brown sitting at F7 currently, but I need his high value to upgrade elsewhere due to the lack of cash generation from Dunkley, Tucker and MacPherson. Dunkley might get a game this week and Tucker is an emergency, so hopefully they might get a crack soon. But yeah, if I needed Brown as a defender I'd keep him, but I don't as I have Ruggles doing the job instead and I have 6 premos already.

Howard is a ruck forward but is listed as a fwd

His playing situation depends on Trengove, Dixon, Westhoff etc where they are shifted around and such

I like him because of his ruck situation as I expect better scores from him later in the year (60s-70s etc) if he can grow into his role, but Ken has to give him a chance and stop dropping him after one game at a time. Reading Ports board a lot of them like him though.

Not having Goldy this year has hurt me a few times. Considering making my first real sideways trade for the year in bringing Goldy in at the expense of either Gawn or Jacobs???

Why not Trent West?? Gives a fwd/ruc dpp and JS seems relatively secure with him and Stef rotating through the ruck. Is also the sole reason why so many Stef Martin owners want to move Stef on now that he is no longer sole ruckman. There is no way I would be punting on Collins before he even plays a game.

Thats why you upgrade Brown to a premo ;) Sell High!

Jacobs is building into the season

Nothing wrong with the scores he puts up, his lowest is 78 IIRC, he regularly scores 80s-90s, just his last quarters have been frustrating at times being on 70-80 odd at 3QT and only scraping 80s-90s from it where he should be tonning up.

Gawn has a good ceiling but has struggled the last 2 weeks, dunno with him.

I think you could probably do this type of trade during the bye rounds once your team is complete, but imo it's just a rage trade.

Stef has scored well playing with either West or Leuenberger in the past 2 seasons, I wouldn't write him off yet.

Dont have another RUC/FWD so the DPP means very little.
I don't rate West's JS at all either. You only carry two rucks in the side if they both offer something, and I cant quite see what West offers.
Disagree with the Stef martin pessimism. He played alright with Leuenberger in the team.

Loosh loosh loosh,

Your team is certainly a strong one mate. having said that, your team is more vanilla than vanilla ice's little vanilla wang. any chance of taking a risk or are you a bit risk averse ala VH?

The martin > goldy trade just stinks (a bit like an expired taco). Surely that trade is only reserved for people who have finished their team, of which you are not one kind sir. Pretty sure the RDT gods (CrozaN, pups, slippers etc.) have given their respective opinions on this trade.

I just hope it doesn't come back to bite you in your gooch.

Best wishes in advance,

GUYS

Prawn Dog has shot my confidence with the proposed Goldy trade.

What do I do??? Hold Martin OR upgrade to Goldy??

Am having a panic attack right now and sweating profusely.

Ive almost soiled my pants I am that nervous.

PLEASE HELP

Shame Bailey got dropped, but I think he'll come back, hopefully through the byes if Wood/Biggs/Morris etc need a rest. Boyd has had a rest from that suspension and will get another in a few weeks for the bye. I don't expect him to miss any games unless he gets an injury with the new week off before finals scenario to stop teams like Norf and Freo tanking in the past.

IIRC Bev said on SEN yesterday that Bailey had came in for a word with him in his office while SEN were speaking to Bev, Bev probably told him he was dropped but "keep your head up son, work hard and you'll be back in eventually" etc.

B.williams was stiff at the selection table.
He was

We are blessed with many a small/medium defender however, our succession planning for Bob, Boyd and Morris looks the goods however

If only we properly replaced Darce, Grant, Hall and Lake however, they're easily our best KPPs we've ever had since the turn of the millennium still :(
