I got him and I am happy for it but I think there are multiple reasons:

1. A lot of coaches have a finished midfield. If Scooter was not going to be M8, and you don't have a finished team, trading in a mid for the bench may not have been the best option. (I plan to end up having him at M9, but I dont have a finished midfield so post byes he will be playing)

2. Some people were all over Sloane to buy at his low price. Or go another premo depending on structure.

3. Some people preferred a full upgrade over Selwood. You mentioned a stepping stone, but I think that with the amount of trades people will have post byes, most of the teams that traded in Scooter wont trade him out.

4. A lot of mid price madness ends in tears.

Ok fair enough in terms of if you're seriously low on trades but apart from that reason I'm just bewildered. Cash generation is limited this year and he will make $ very quickly for upgrading or become a very solid M9 for most teams.

916/10 with C to come for me. Have 22 playing with my 4th lowest score currently Stewart's 69. Really hope I can get 1900+ this week as Round 13 is going to be a nightmare and I'll struggle to get 18 on the park.

Seriously and this is not a hindsight question but how did people not get Scooter in this week? Hes a proven DT scorer when he had this role at WCE and added benefit of being a stepping stone cash generator.

Yea absolute worst case he peaks in price somewhere over 500k and he's an easy sideways to whatever premium mid has had a couple of bad games in a row.

Best case (even if unlikely) he averages enough to be an M8 keeper. There's no downside, especially considering he has a bye where most teams will be putting out 22 players anyway.

In saying that almost every team in the cash league I'm in has traded him in so could be a phenomenal jump in ownership if it's a fair sample.

As I mentioned elsewhere, the reason I wasn't convinced was that without a really really high tackle count he wouldn't have tonned up in either of those two games. He would still make money which is good, yes, but for myself and perhaps others my midfield was the line that needed the least work. In the past couple of weeks I have had to field Parsons (let me tell you, that isn't a good feeling), so it was important for me to make trades around where I most needed them rather than what I would consider somewhat of a luxury.

He has scored well in the past with that tagging role. IIRC he averaged like 106 or 108 one year doing so at West Coast. That was a while ago and he has suffered from injuries since then. Great job to those who brought him in and from watching last night's game he looked as if he could very well average 100+ for the season. Having said that, there are multiple reasons as to why people didn't bring him in as touched upon by Doona. Often things look more obvious in hindsight.

Was tossing up between Ebert and Sloane all week, ended up going with the crow because I would much prefer him copping my trade curse than Brabert.

Worked a treat! Might have to exclusively trade in players playing port from now on.

Great Post. I personally didn't worry about his tackling numbers. I thought after a few games he would start to find more of the pill, obviously not getting 17 tackles a game but still a high amount of tackles and maybe my gut feel was that he was still great value (albeit I feel he'll average a lot more at Skilled than other grounds and all 3 games have been at skilled).

My reasons for not bringing him in however were - I still have Taranto, Williamson, Stewart (finding form and cash), Barrett, Newman, Marchbank and Myers to cash in on. So with only 13 trades left this week and a few upgrades left, I basically thought given the amount of cash I'll have available, what's the point in bringing in a mid-pricer that could flop? I brought in ******ANB who turned out ****. I have to make up points big time for the rest of the season, I want to be bringing in the absolute cream of the crop - Zorko, Sloane, Simpson, Montagna, Heeney, Laird etc etc. I don't want any players who "might" average 100-110+

However everyone is in a different position. I definitely understand why people went for Selwood - great bye coverage and scoring, great cash generation and great current value. It's these sort of moves that can really set you up and can pay off. It's just for me I'm only going to bring in guns from now on. I don't give a *** about the M9, F7 etc at this stage. I have good rookies on my bench still, when there comes a time that I have players go down, I'll then look at a good M9,F7, D7 etc. I want points on my field I want to be getting 2300 every week.

3% owned as of the end of R10

The new figure won't be available until Sunday night when R12 opens

Imo that's a bit of a waste even though you bank cash. Oliver was scoring fine. SPP/Barrett would've been the better sideways for Scooter.

3.3K people traded him in this week. Add that to his existing 570 owners, should be up to 25-30% ownership next week

945/9 + C

Should have 18 this week, as long as there are no late outs. No one in the current game unfortunately.

Yeo is playing forward. This is not his best position for DT scores.

I was kind of expecting that with Gold Coast's talls up forward and only McKenzie brought in as JJKs replacement, it was going to be one of McGovern or Yeo who went forward as a target.

Yeo forward isn't as bad as Yeo playing as a lockdown undersized KPD though, like what he did in late 2015. He just needs delivery.

Is Hanley taking always points from Hall / Harbrow ?
Harbrow maybe

Seems Harbrow is playing BP/HBF and not wing today. He had like 27 possies last week, a poor mark/tackle count saw him score only 78 though. Dunno though.

Curse of the Overprojection strikes again hitting Gaff, projected 110, only on 63 at 3QT......

Fully expect 80s-90s from Adams, Grundy and Gaff tomorrow now.
