Round 11 Trades

Really hard choice this week - need HELP - with some sound reasoning if possible!

Option A)

Houli --> M. Boyd
Kerridge-> T.Mitchel

Option B)

Houli --> Kade Simpson (but I also have Docherty)
Kerridge --> Steven Jack

I think Boyd is better than Simpson, but Steven probably presents slightly better value than T Mitchel....although both had a great week last week

Such a hard call, and I need to do both trades to finally get my projected score over 2200.

Simpson Steven duo

Keeps the same bye round players also doing that trade

Boyd has a BE of over 100 so you could get him cheaper next week or so and Titch is rock bottom now, but should be attainable next week before he flies back towards 600k

Steven will be 580-590k probably come Sunday night, grab him now before he gets too expensive

I'm still sticking with trading in Williams even though he's an emergency, he's sitting in M11 for me currently and I know he will be called upon again in due course.

I personally don't like this. It means you take the risk of being an extra man down during the byes. The donut risk.

ballsy but not something I would do.

Thanks Pups. I just came to a similar conclusion. Leaves me with 19/18/19 on the bye rounds as a worst case scenario, which will probably improve with some trading.

Is anyone trading out Kerridge?
I am.

His role looked weird last week and I am putting in Sam Grey (should get some good points against my leaky pies) until I can finally bring in Martin to complete my forward line. Trading out Kerridge gets me Steven Jack who I think is now playing like he did last season.

My other options were downgrading Ruggles or McCarthy to Collins or Paine, I ain't doing that as Paine has shit JS and scoring potential and won't make money while Collins should score 50s/60s most weeks, I would prefer to upgrade/sideways Ruggles when he's maxed out as he's D7 now.

Could trade in McKenzie Willis but his JS is likely shit and probably won't score that well either, but his DPP is handy at least. Might ask the Suns Board about him

Ta for the thoughts Kaisa, are you not worried it's a bit sideways? Maybe it doesnt appeal to me on the basis that I am not looking to Dusty at all this year. Forward line seems good enough without him, more trouble elsewhere for me!

I'm upgrading to Steven from him

Means I keep Petracca, Smith, Davis etc who still have a few weeks left in them
I already have Steven (started with him) so I am obviously targeting Mitchell. Would need to downgrade somewhere else to make that move though and it might open me up to a future donut with weak forward bench coverage. Team is as below

DEF: Shaw, Docherty, Simpson, Dea, Tippa, Laird (Ruggles, Tucker)
MID: Neale, Hannebery, Steven, Ross, Scully, Ablett, Wells, Dunkley (Smith, Gresham, Keays)
RUC: Goldstein, Martin (!!!) Cox
FWD: Merrett, Montagna, Hall, Zorko, Kerridge, Barlow (Menadue, Petracca)

Thoughts gratefully received

Apologies I didibt make my situation clear.

I am NOT trading in Sam Grey - I am bringing him onfield after being on my bench.

I am then using Kerridge DPP to trade him out for Steven Jack. Big upgrade and I think Kerridge has hit his ceiling.

Like pups it also means I can hold onto Racca, Smith and Oliver who will all go up at least once more.

Sound better? :)

Simpson Steven duo for a number of reasons:

1. the first rule of RDT is always go with advice from go you pups
2. steven the best player of those 4 and best price given potential so getting him in is biggest priority
3. as go you pups mentioned - boyd higher BE so can grab him next week and no change to bye structure

CASE CLOSED, NEXT

I am torn now:

Kerridge+Cox > Titch+Tucker (Field Wagner & Dunkley/Smith) +70K
Smith+Wagner > Titch+Tucker (Fielding Tippa & Kerridge) +5k

The first trade sets me up perfectly to do a straight Wagner > Suckling (Thanks for that tip) next week without needing to downgrade, finishing my defence and having Tippa/Suckling connection from d6 (suckling) to f8 (Tippa). Also I am trading out 2 maxed players pretty much. Kerridge may make 10-15k but could as easily loose cash.

The second trade means I have less on field points in 2 positions (Maybe) but have less money generation as I am trading out a player making money. I could also do the Kerridge > Suckling next week moving petracca into the mids, tippa fwd.

First option.

Both your trades have likely hit their ceiling and Dunkley seemed very good at finding space last week. I am spewing I missed that boat.

You don't have a good downgrade option by the sounds of it. Ruggles > Collins next week I am watching depending on their scores, but I like Ruggles over the byes for better scoring potential. I might have a look at your team to see if I see anything

Most of your rookies aren't finished yet, but if you've only got 36k then you have to make the right move with the downgrade. Menadue imo is the obvious downgrade option, but there's not alot out there to come in for him like Willis/Paine etc

I'd be holding Cox all year, his DPP is vital

I know it's gonna be wet but I friggin hate getting zeros...am going Adams>Suckling (DPP Yeo to mids) and Brown>Tippett (DPP into ruck to cover Goldy)
Good short-term coverage trades imo

Then I'd imagine you'd just DPP them fwd/back in a few weeks and upgrade your midfield once the cows moo. I had to do similar a few weeks ago with Houli and Barlow not playing

Schmidt2003 Apparently Rocket said in a press conference that Willis was only getting a game due to injuries in their squad, that gives me no confidence with him. Williams on the other hand has legitimately forced his way into the team through good VFL form and is still making squads of 25 even with our injured players returning, that gives me confidence he'll be relevant some weeks and as a M11 I can hold him there for now.

2. steven the best player of those 4 and best price given potential so getting him in is biggest priority

I don't think you can categorically say that titch is not as good a fantasy player as Steven. Like Steven, Titch is at his lowest price point and I am going him over Steven. go you pups has titchell as well bought at top price ;)

If I could get both, I would love that, but personally I am skipping Steven for Titchell.

He looked hopeless in the parts of the game I watched last week. definitely not AFL standard.

Probably the only trade you can do, but I guess you need to way the risks of a promo 50K's cheaper and a potential donut over the byes. Could pay off. I would love Williams to play his 3rd game in rd 15 so that I have an awesome downgrade from keays.
