Ive thought about Wingard and yes hes a risk but if you get him for cover over the byes and he ends up an M9 or F7, its not that big a risk at 300 odd. Right? ...RIGHT?

Depends on how many trades you have left and how many rookies you have on field to upgrade.

Thanks for the analysis but i think just looking at with vs without Ryder is too narrow.

Ryder missed rounds 2-6. During this time, Westhoffs hitouts were:
Rd2: 11 (Dixon 32 hitouts)
Rd3: 15
Rd4: 5 (Dixon 13 hitouts) (Howard 21 hitouts)
Rd5: 26
Rd6: 4 (Dixon 25 hitouts)

So he only played significant ruck time in two games. In these games he scored:
Rd3 - 82 SC points
Rd5 - 106 SC points

For the most part, his role didn't significantly change. In my view, the with vs without Ryder stat is just a coincidence and is inflated because his 147 SC game was while Ryder was out. In this game, he had 4 hitouts and played the same 'floating' wingman role he would have played if Ryder was in the team.

Really want to upgrade both but not sure if I will get the chance or not with trades getting low.

Who would everyone keep out of these 2 if they were forced to? LOL!

I would keep both and make 1 your D7 via Murphy > Brander (Move Sicily to Def) Brander to F8. This allows you to play Fritsch on field instead of wasting him on the bench. Austin & Brander could end up decent loophole doughnuts in Def & Fwds.

Also, this allows you to potentially upgrade Fritsch > McDonald next week and have him and Sicily on opposite positional lines with an extra B/F swing in Brander for if you ever need TMac & Sicily on the same positional line to cover multiple injuries.

Short term thinking here guys. There's still half a season left and you're making a player choice because of one rainy Thursday night.
Surely you make the call on who you think will score best for the rest of the season not just this week. In saying that, of the names mentioned I'd say McLean > Hoff. Or you may think there is someone else.

I was planning on bringing Mclean in the following week once he dropped a little more in value, so eventually have both. With the weather I’m looking at swapping that order around except I will need to pull the trigger on a downgrade this week to facilitate it

Brander IMO is being given a taste of AFL ........with Trades becoming a premium, we can ill-afford donuts sitting on our bench

It's a bit like that. The more complete the starting teams get the more depleted their benches look. From my perspective, DP bench doughnuts are ok so long as you have quality in the D7, M9 & F7 bench spots.

Fwiw I'm trading hibbo and keeping doo-day for abit longer.

Its a costly excise trading out players you thought that would be keepers but you have to spend 100k plus to upgrade them.

Totally agree ..........if you have a strong bench, you can loophole your D7 & F7 positions ...meaning you can hold Fritsch & Doedee at F6 & F7 respectively .....hopefully?
