Re: Round 14 Scores/Discussion

464/6 so far- Suckling and Smith my two standouts (both recruited in the last couple of weeks). Junior Rioli was on fire early- hope he's OK. Puopolo & Heppell OK for rookies. Hurley rubbish. Not brilliant, but not complete disaster yet.

Lids, Gaz jnr and Lynch on the park at the moment.

Re: Round 14 Scores/Discussion

291/3 - Hodge, Smith and Puopolo

Ablett (C), Boyd, Deledio and Sylvia in game now.

Hopefully Picken tires out soon or stops dry humping Ablett.... pretty ridiculous even for a dog.

Re: Round 14 Scores/Discussion

Have Stanley and pup on the bench for hibberd :(
Also prestia on the bench.
Boyd looks all over the place. If not for his clearance work he would struggle to get a kick

Re: Round 14 Scores/Discussion

wow i thought boyd alright in the 3rd quarter 11 touches 26 sc points fml.

39 touches will boyd hit over 100 c points?

bulldogs fowards are useless every long kick from boyd was a turn over:thumbsdown:

Good recovery.

111 SC points. Not bad in the end but with 39 pos you would have expect he might have scored more.

Boyd was robbed. Scaled down to 106.

The amount of clearances he had was ridiculous, the fact there was no decent players up forward wasn't he's fault.

And apart from a goal in the last Ablett butchered it in that last quarter - 121 WTF?

The old Champion data reasoning would be that Boyd's disposals were after the Bulldogs had the game already won so not as important, whilst Ablett's were when the GC were coming back so worth more.

Still Robbed. 39 disposals should be worth over 110.

Re: Round 14 Scores/Discussion

interesting point Pez makes,
With regard to the long kick forward from a clearance where a defender simply reads it better then the forward and marks uncontested does it count as a clanger?
I was hoping that YSCC scoring expanation would clarify this but sadly it didnt.

No.

Interview of a CD rep in an article on the TS website recently and he stated that if the kick is accurate and your team member either makes a mistake or gets beaten the kick is still considered effective.

Re: Round 14 Scores/Discussion

Unless it's a long kick (40+ meters at least), any kick that goes directly (uncontested mark in a non-contest) to an opposition player is a clanger. Getting extra points for a clearance and an inside 50 reduces the negative impact a bit but it's still classified as a clanger. If it goes to a contest and your teammate drops it, effective.

A long kick that goes to opposition is ineffective, which gains 0 points anyway. Boyd had a lot of these which made his efficiency terrible.

And as others have said, he racked it up in the 3rd and the 4th when the game was well and truly over. Ablett with 2 goal assists, 2 goals and a huge 6 frees for explains his high score, even in a losing team.

thank you too...
FWIW im not whinging about his score i thought it was generous for the reasons you stated...

Re: Round 14 Scores/Discussion

858 / 9

Ablett (C) was a bit meh, having to play Hibberd a bit annoying.

Big night ahead with Swan, Pendles, Shaw, ROK, Goodes, Lower, Fyfe, Pavlich, Mzungu(?)

Hopefully those guys get the job done and put me somewhere around 1800 with Petrie, Gibbs, Cox, Chapman, Johnson to come on Sunday.

Re: Round 14 Scores/Discussion

893/10 which is hard to gauge is good/bad/par because of the lack of scores posted here lol.

Broughton, Pendles, Sandi, Pav, Goodes, Mzungu tonight.

Re: Round 14 Scores/Discussion

Anyone here still carrying J.Roo?

Getting a bit sick of him. Has been playing up the ground way more, and while it does give him a bit more consistency, he isn't dominating games like he did last year. Feel like ditching him for a genuine premium player, but with only 5 trades left that might be a worry.
