Absolute must win now after Brisbane dropped points vs the Hawks.

Great opportunity to settle ourselves post the Hawks game and dig in for that finals race. I think assuming we bring the energy of the 2nd half and play our way we should get the win.

If the AFL world hasn't gone loopy then I'd go no change, but if Butler gets a week then Peris for Butler and let him just run and chase.

Probably not a popular opinion but I think Membrey has enough runs on the board to warrant a game ahead of Caminiti. I like Hammers youthful enthusiasm and contest work but Membrey has a higher ceiling for scoring goals. Depends very much on Skunk's fitness.

I get the feeling Lyon is backing Caminiti in based on his pressers so I'm not really expecting the change. I just think with the likes of Vlastuin, Grimes, Balta etc we could do with Membrey's physical presence to help Max out. It wouldn't hurt to give Hammer a run at Sandy anyway.

2 extra day break on Richmond, with them travelling back from across the other side of the country in a game of high intensity and tough conditions.

Honestly we should run them off the park next week if we're serious.

I think they've got different roles. I really liked Caminiti playing further up the ground. Prefer Membrey in for one of the smalls if they're not performing, but it's probably Membrey or Sharman atm

No to Peris nowhere near it, if Butler out just bring in Membrey & leave Sharman as sub.

Does that leave us too tall up forward? Especially with Butler our main pressure player.

Paton or Connolly would be the two short options we have but neither have the speed Butler does.

Have a feeling we might get shown up.

We're not playing good footy for large chunks of games. We look really ordinary at times.

Obviously the shorter break and extra travel for the tigers works in our favour, but I feel like the next two weeks could be very telling and we could be exposed

Hope I'm wrong.

Thought we had a terrific win Thursday night. Think we underestimate winning interstate, especially against that side at that ground. Yes ugly game but pressure was elite for large majority of the game and to keep them scoreless in the opening quarter of Buds 350th is very impressive.

Our 2nd half was pretty good football I thought

What role does the AFLPA have to play in this dangerous tackle nonsense? It's some of the most maddening stuff I've ever seen, many will be lost to the game. Is there rumour of a head injury class action in future and the AFL is shiteing bricks? As the primary basis of their current rules directive seems to be protection of the head at all costs, no matter what, even to the point of penalising accidents and perfect tackles, taking a massive dump on common sense, whilst simultaneously severing the fabric of the game, confusing/demoralising players and fans to within an inch, and attempting to adjudicate a free fast-flowing sport in a manner which is entirely unattainable. Like the umpires don't have Matrix vision, they can't slow down time and see everything perfectly - nothing is ever going to be perfect and frankly that used to be half the charm.

We've copped such a raw stick too. The amount of things that happened to our 00's team and players which are now changed or outlawed is just stupid. Drawn GFs, posters in GFs, Rooke doping, Roo attacked when injured at the Gabba, X Clarke targeted-KOd when he was unaware by that Geelong player... When fate twists the knife deep beneath the surface, the surest bet in the world is when it comes back out, it's dripping red, white and black.

The trade-off between their fear of litigation and utterly ruining the game seems to be very skewed to the former. Generally speaking, a culture which enables and incentivises prolific litigation also doesn't help.

Like I'm all for protecting players and especially the head, but surely there is an onus on the players here too, they're not being forced to play, quite the opposite and accidents do happen FFS!

So honestly AFL, just GAGF.

Honestly AFL, just GAGF and leave our game be!!
Wouldn’t rely on them for anything with Patrick Dangerfield leading them

In terms of changes, if Butler does go, I'd like to see Bytel in for him and Gresh more time forward.

Also reckon Copper deserves to start and it couldn't hurt Hammer to have some time at Sandy.

Wonder who they use on Bolton, if anyone. There's Windy of course, but maybe Hill??
