Well, I'm sure most of you can excuse my enthusiasm and excitement this week! First team to knock off Subi .
Subi v Perth - Well, how hungry will they be to rebound? Fletcher back, but a few more injuries (thanks to the ferocity of the Swannies) to senior players may open this up a little more. Perth need to bring their best game to Leederville and the Young brothers, Siekerka, Sullivan, Kayler-Thomson and the like need to have good games. Can Scott Selwood get through a game without suffering concussion (if he plays) - these are the big questions.
South Freo v East Perth could be a good match, but I suspect after the game a couple of weeks ago Dimmer has put a few rockets and got them thinking in the right direction. Heath Black and the Wiz in, with Graham and Head going out. Expect Souths to be too good, but East Perth should certainly give a good account of themselves given the last couple of performances.
Claremont v Peel - well normally at Claremont Oval you would install the Tiges as odds on against Peel, but 2008 is not a normal year for the Tiges. Ballantyne v Richardson, shoot out of the small forwards, could be interesting and I think this game is in the balance.
Swans v West Perth - well, if their is a team I love us beating and hate losing to, it's this mob! The Eagles and Dockers have done us no favours, taking Davis and Hinkley and not giving us Hansen and not taking Bradley, Campbell or Seaby. Shapes as a very even contest, with WP having a slight advantage in my view. It depends on how Swans youngsters (which is a large portion of the team) cope with the pressure and follow Dawson's plan. Guys like Garlett, Geappen, Notte, McKinlay need to stand up. Can't wait, this should be a ripping encounter.
Unfortunately not looking like fine weather but let's hope we all enjoy ourselves and the black ducks keep on their charge!
