At this stage going:

Cogs -> Hunter
Williams -> Whitfield

HOWEVER I am flirting with the idea of bringing in a cheap defender like a Perryman or a Hunter Clark instead of Whitfield... am I mad? Saves me over $300k, gives me a midpricer that can average 90+ and make some money, and I’m also worried about the tag for Whit with no Cogs or Kelly in the GWS side.

Wouldn't be too stressed, as Collingwood don't tag and Jelly should be back the following week for a likely tag from Houston

Didn't sleep last night. Dunkley haunted me. And he is basically unattainable for the next two weeks given his price. Goal of top 5k is gone after the weekend so just focussing on having funds available to upgrade to uber premiums over the next few weeks. With that said I may look to bring in Hunter Clark with a break even of 24. And as a few have suggested on here, Lachie Hunter or Marc Murphy. Teague is coaching for the head coaching role next year so it's no surprise to see him throw Murphy back in the middle. And it's not like they have any incentive to tank with their draft pick going to Adelaide so they're playing to win. At 598k I think I just talked myself into Murphy.

Bring in both Ed Curnow and Murphy against the Suns, and watch your sadness turn to glee!

I need to get Pendles + Hannebery out. Pendles has been bleeding cash so can’t do much.

1. Curnow + Cripps, leaves Guthrie in my team.
2. Guthrie > Laird, pendles > Cripps and hope Hannebery gets up
3. Guthrie > Hartlett, Pendles > Zorko/Duncan/Billings and hope Hannebery gets up

Thoughts?
I've had to field Hind for Hanners over the last 2 weeks, hoping Hanners gets up too

My first thought was Collingwood don’t tag, but they had Mayne doing a defensive role on Hurn for most of the game last week. Won’t be at all surprised if Bucks identifies Whit as clearly the most damaging player in the Giants side and does something similar. Probably jumping at shadows but it’s still something to think about.

That is a fair point, but Whit starts forward a lot, to avoid the tag. Might go to Williams instead? Could be a consideration though. I've already got him, so it's obviously not as much of an issue for me

Yeah I’ll probably just bite the bullet and bring him in I reckon. Clark and Perryman are the sort of midprice trades that are worth punting on pre-byes but I’m probably best just going for the big boys now given I can (just) afford them.

My thoughts exactly. You're really just wasting a trade bringing in someone as a 'cash grab', given how close the end of the season is anyway

Murphy is one I looked at yesterday. Him and Newman into D5 and M8 - I think I can do that...

Would get rid of rookies on field.

Anyone looking for a 'cash grab' or a 'slingshot' type move might want to check out Shai Bolton, was playing as a mid in the magoos and was BOG for a couple of weeks, he now looks as though his role at the Tigs has changed to 'full time' mid, has tonned up in the last 2 games in that role.

I like it! I'm not sold on Newman, but then again, I'm not sold on many defenders right now (maybe Ellis as a sneaky one with his last 6 at the MCG).

On a different note, as a Bulldogs man, do you think Hunter is a good grab for the rest of the season? They're pushing for finals, so will have to be competitive in all games, and he plays like a beast at Marvel (4 of his last 6 there). That's my reasoning anyway. Would you tick it off, or will his role change with Libba returning soon?

If I go Cogs to Murphy, I can go Hore to Newman.

Means my weak links are: Perryman at D6, Murphy at M8 and Lipinski at F6.

Lipinski is rumoured to be carrying a knock, so I’m concerned about his availability this week.

As for Hunter, he has a great tank and covers a lot of ground. Regularly used as a switch player out of defence. I was hoping to go Cogs to Hunter, but then have an issue with who I can use in defence.

I can’t see Hunter being tagged, not when Bont, Dunkley and Macrae are there...

Libba might not be back, I’d be giving West a go as a small forward. But wait and see....
