tough decision to make, really want Whit but he is going to get physically tormented against Port. He already copped a hit this week and stayed down for a while. I can't bear to bring him in and have Sutcliffe and co. continuously bash him around. He is a serious risk of getting injured again. On the other hand, I don't know how long I can go on with having a weak backline, adding whit for a safe 100 every week would be nice. But this week feels risky...

Only way of getting Whitfield in trading Sicily to him...

only have 4 trades left...lock for finals in main cash league so not trading.

Will have to roll with spuds like Sicily, heeney and Cripps for another week.

Sic to Whitfield would be tempting, I'm wondering who the bigger issue is now: guthrie or sicily? I feel sick trading in Sic a few weeks ago, don't know why I did it, just copied my AF trades probably :drunk:

He’s cooked...horrendous role...playing more key defender now...hawks have lions, gws away and eagles away in the run home..he is expected to drop $25-$30 k next week as well.

Breakeven 119. It’s either this week to Whitfield or never...Whitfield breakeven 109 which he will have by 3/4 time against port

that looks grim, trading him over Guthrie is now a real possibility.
Are you not at all worried about Whit getting targeted by Port? He's exactly the type of player they would go after. One solid knock from SPP and it's season over for him and me

Whitfield's saving grace and the reason he can't be ignored is his running power. I felt stupid for ignoring him at the start of the year, thinking that I could get him cheaper. Sure he can be injury prone, but not having him will drive you insane. Teams can't really tag him or go after him, as there's barely a player that can keep up with him. Has a very unique combination of genuine speed and elite endurance. Give him a miss at your own peril.

SPP was putrid this week...13 touches...him and spudcliffe should both be dropped. If port go in this week against gws with a midfield of Boak, Rockliff, spp & Sutcliffe Hinkley should be sacked.

But I do see the worries with Whitfield...he literally comes off every single game with a knock

Can't disagree with any of that. Tough decision

Sutcliffe getting dropped would just about be enough for me to get Whit.

Witherden to whit which leaves me with 1 trade left. After just having scored 2580, my sides not in bad shape.
Just need to pray now not to get injuries.

For those of us DT vets and long memories, how the hell did we get complete teams when we were limited to 20 trades?

Thinking Lipinski -> McLean and Sicily -> Taranto

1 trade left and 1 rookie on field

Final back upgrade next week

Would love Whitfield, bit I agree with TheRednWhite. Would also love to trade out Cripps because it was my worst trade in off the year last week. Might hold; though, as I guess I was tempted to trade Toby Greene about 6 times this year and now he's running around like Stevie J in his heyday so Cripps could come good, especially if Carlton was to give him 15 Brownlow votes.

I never got a completed side with 24 trades, never understood the cash cow system until 2013 when we got 2 every week then the old format became AFLF

2011-12 would be great years to do again if I had my time again though, load up on GC/GWS types, 2011 we had 33 in our squad to cope with byes as there was 17 teams that year

From memory, that was the consensus, but they (in the end) weren't the best rookies to have as they just didn't score enough, and were often in and out of the team.

A few were good, but there were plenty from the regular teams who were good too

I'm thinking of Swallow, Zac Smith, Treloar, Greene etc

Smith, Treloar and in particular Greene were huge in their rookie years, I only had the Gold Coast kids though, picked the wrong GWS rookies aside from Giles who was a no brainer, though Adam Kennedy was ok at times.

Heppell, Sam Gibson and Zorko were massive in their debut years around that same time too

Imo we haven't had enough rookies around that scoring level since, we might get a Walsh pop up every now and then, but they're not around often enough.

Don't get me wrong - there were definitely some good ones! But there were also a heap of flops.

As you say - it's been a lean few years for rookies, though I actually think this year hasn't been too bad. Walsh, Duursma, Hore, Rozee, Setterfield (mid-late season) all stand up as good rookies.

Think Walsh to gaff or the likes is a good one?

Will leave Cripps at m8 and 2 trades left.
