Then last year they didn't have them, and now this year they're back
Having two different logos, of different sizes and types, on the same side of a jumper is pretty weird.

West Coast and Western Bulldogs wear predominantly royal blue so it makes sense for them to be paired with royal blue shorts when away to North Melbourne. You can't have both teams in royal shorts so the white reverts to North to match their jumper.

However for North home games vs Essendon, Carlton, Melbourne, Richmond, Fremantle etc North should be allowed to wear the royal blue shorts with the away team in black/navy/purple shorts.

Not sure what the current situation is for North Melbourne v Geelong games: do the Cats have a navy clash strip at the moment?
No. There is talk of wearing this year’s indigenous guernsey for the away game to North.

The AFLW design would be a better guide.
Same design, but more Navy Blue to it.

Agree, The AFLW has a more navy design, Male's version in 2021 was same but white based, I would say they will go with this at a guess, but dont be surprised if they take a chance to wear the inverse and gauge reaction to it.
