I can't help but notice that you are using bolded, large capital text. I think this is very unnecessary, however i appreciate your feedback
You have good eyes.

Wait ...wat...you traded Danger for Libba?
I've gotta get Blicavs out of the ruck; the only way to do that is to bring Cox in and therefore trade Blicavs for a fwd. No fwd rookies are really doing anything, so JJK is probably the best upgrade option - so I need about 120k plus what I've got already. I don't have faith in Danger maintaining last year's average at the moment, while what I saw from the 'Dogs - at the game - was players constantly looking to get the ball in his hands. That's DT gold when you've got players looking for you constantly.

The only other two players I'd consider trading out to get the cash are Bolton - but I don't have faith in any downgrade options that will free up sufficient cash - and Heppell - similar issue.

Also, Bolton might be worth holding if the forecast is correct and it rains for tomorrow's game. Jude loves it slow, wet and tackle heavy.

Stop trolling him lmach
Leave him alone

Didnt you read that article this morning lukeye
Everyones jumping off gaz, I cant see anyway he can get back from that
Oh yeah, I heard his hammy is looking pretty bad after surgery.

I think we all better jump off him.

Every scenario is different, so of course there is no right or wrong answer here.

Many will trade because they have to or want to, but there will be many who just don't see it as necessary or appropriate for their side. I am in the latter group for sure.

Sideways trading (particularly from premium to premium) has for years been seen as an absolute waste of trades, but as you correctly point out, with 44 trades available to us over the course of the season trades can't really be saved. There is now some merit to trading sideways and no doubt there will be plenty who go down that path.

In my situation, I've decided not to trade this week. I am ranked 12th overall but I'm holding on to my side as initially selected for one more week as I don't feel it is worth changing things up just yet. I have no injured players that need to be traded out immediately. I feel as though I've nailed the rookie selections in my side so there's no real need for me to change anything there. A few under-performing premiums are a slight concern but I've decided to wait the extra week and see how they go before making a final decision on them. I've already mapped out the trades in my mind for next week should those same premiums fail to fire again in round 2.

Of course I could lose ground to some who sideways trade a premium to another premium, but for every one team that does that successfully I think there will be numerous who do it and make their side worse as a result. It's a risk, but one I've decided is absolutely worth taking.

It's interesting - I just looked at your side and I can barely split it from mine. For comparison here is my team - http://dreamteam.afl.com.au/?p=other_teams&tid=2493&lid=1

We have a similar structure, similar rookies and similar premiums. The only difference I can see is that I was hit by Robinson, Zorko and Dangerfield. All 3 are speculative premium picks. The forward premium depth is limited so you probably keep Zorko and Robinson (though a head knock like that to Robbo may limit his output for a few weeks). Danger too probably deserves another chance but you could almost say it's safe to trade him to someone like a Selwood (for consistency's sake). I'm more looking at who to bring in and for me JJK, Moloney and Hartlett excite me the most. Crouch next week.

Yes, very similar....except of course for the ranking. ;)

No trades for me this week ultimately, but both Goddard and Franklin are under the pump.

Goddard is another one I query. Nearly every superstar moving from one side to another have a reduced output. I still expect him to be a top 5 defender but might want to avoid a price drop in the short term.

Congratulations on your ranking - hope you have a good year.

I have no doubt that Goddard will be right up there in terms of defenders at the end of the season, but as I said earlier I see sideways trading as a legitimate option this season.

If Goddard has another relatively poor game this week, I'm looking to trade him out for a cheaper premium who may have had 2 good weeks in a row. At the moment I have my eye on Hartlett. The immediate benefit is the 80k I gain from the trade for future trades, not to mention replacing a player who is struggling a little, with a player in better form and producing good scores.

The plan is to then look at bringing Goddard back in down the track when (a) he's back in good form and (b) when he's probably at his lowest price and looking to shoot back up on that front.

I've thought long and hard about this and at the moment that's what I've settled on. For my side that seems to make absolute sense and to be the best course of action for me to take.

Trading Greene and Watts(def), happy with the rest of my team apart from the lack of Wines. Question is is it worth having nearly 300k sitting there for few weeks to have Wines?
