I think the more pressing issue is that it's going to be a long couple years ahead for Fremantle, not enough young talent coming through/half the team have poor footskills. McCarthy, Taberner and Cox will never be top 8 quality forwards.

Waterman as a forward alone isn't going to solve it. Brander is 18.
So really, you're in a world of trouble. Just soon you'll be in the rebuild phase, as you have no cash having spent it on Nicnat, who won't be back until late 2019, McGovern a key defender. And if you want to keep Gaff and Kennedy. Ouch.

Gaff shouldn't be getting a sympathy card. You'd think the one punch aggressors are thugs and criminals before they do it? No, they're normal simple guys that make a decision that changes their life, and are never seen to be in their 'character'. Punching is never in their character or not. It's retaliation and in the moment. You do it, you pay the crime. Of course most people will feel remorse as soon as they do it, only human. But the crime is done, and you can't erase that.

It shows Gaff can't stand a tag, gets absolutely frightened at the hard ball stuff and a front runner. Enjoy paying him 700k+. 6+ weeks. Afl will try and get him off for less.

-Kennedy isn't injury prone, both times he's been out this year is from collision injuries
- Darling has been kicking 2 goals a game since his second year
- Cripps isn't our best small, we have Ryan, Rioli, Venables and Lecras, all of whom are better than Matera and Frodo
-Lecras, see above, has replacements
- We don't need Brander and Waterman in the side at the moment but both are developing nicely in the Wafl along with O Allen and M Allen. All look to have more talent than Kersten,Taberner and McCarthy.
- 2 goals isn't anything to get excited about
- West coast won't rebuild any time soon, we have young talent across every line.
- Get more delusional about your own side, there's a reason Brisbane pumped you at home a few weeks ago and you haven't made finals for years

Some equally bad posting in this thread from a few eagles fans last night. Trying to position Gaff as the victim and banging on about Lyon and Freo. Really embarrassing deflections considering how much they were frothing at the mouth over the Hall and Vickery incidents. I hope they feel suitably embarrassed now they've sobered up today.

Ryan and Rioli are in the team....WC definitely not lacking in young small forwards. Young key forwards yes, but that's why they drafted Brander

Sorry Freo boys but unsavoury incidents are often not shown on replay as to maintain the peace in the crowd and avoid it spilling over into the stands.
I believe the argument that they were cheering him with many unaware of what had happened.
