Autopsy Round 24 2024 – Western Bulldogs vs GWS Giants, Sunday August 25, 12.30pm AEST, MARS Stadium

Today, in the early game, we take an intergalactic shuttle to Mars for the Battle of the West - Bulldogs vs Giants. A win will see GWS finish no lower than third, and possibly (if Port lose or draw with Fremantle) second, and potentially oust the Doggies from the finals. A loss keeps the Doggies in the top 8 and a finals showdown with Hawks, while we would stay in Sydney to take on Minor Premiers, Sydney. Can we do it?

I don't see any benefit for Thomas as sub, either. From the named side, Muff is a better sub.

Yeah I'm expecting Thomas to start and McMullin will be the sub.

So looking forward to this game - a great test of our team’s self belief and ability to perform under intense pressure. This is (almost) an elimination final for the Bulldogs, as they could be out of the finals if they lose (and Carlton and Fremantle win as expected).

Also looking forward to appreciating Jesse’s personal milestone as he officially becomes our 2nd ever Coleman medalist - also Jesse just needs to kick 1 more goal to claim outright the record for the most number of goals ever kicked by a Giant in a Home and Away season!

And a win will mean that in addition to having the most consecutive wins in our history, this will also be our club’s highest ever finish at the end of the H&A rounds - who would have ever thought we would be in this position after our disastrous Adelaide loss a couple of months ago?

XOH can tag/run with. Haynes can slot into the back line seamlessly and Browny can be a nice x-factor to inject when/as needed.
