Friday night should have been Lions v Essendon or Freo v Port

Freo v Port had to be the last game as it has the most ramifications of what happens in the 8. With Essendon winning on the weekend I would have gone Brisbane v Essendon on Friday night though.

So based off the information from Tom Morris and the Herald Sun, we know the following:

Friday 7.40pm Melbourne v Collingwood
Saturday 2.10pm Richmond v Gold Coast
Saturday 7.30pm Brisbane v Essendon
Saturday 7.30pm Sydney v Adelaide
Sunday early Bulldogs v Giants
Sunday 3.20pm Carlton v St Kilda
Sunday evening Fremantle v Port Adelaide

So the only unknowns are what time Hawthorn v North & Geelong v West Coast will start on the Saturday.

Presumably Freo v Port will start at 6.10pm so it’s standalone like Rd24 last year, so Dogs and Giants might start at 12.30pm in that case.

Also, 2.10pm Saturday footy is making a comeback!!

Launceston games are usually 1.10pm or 1.45pm.

At this point why even bother with a floating fixture?

This fixture could have been released mid year easily. No need to stretch it out like this.

Ir if they want to manufacture drama one tip that may help them avoid dodgy games like Collingwood v Melbourne for Friday night (due to the 2 MCG games) is to have 9 different venues for the final round. It could have been achieved if they used Adelaide Oval.

Really don’t understand the point of these fixtures.

They make Friday and majority of Saturday a bore fest with all the pointless games in the name of “excitement” for Sunday.

Would much rather watch some exciting prime time Friday night footy or Saturday afternoon then cramming all the meaningful games onto a single day.

What do they expect people to watch 9 hours of footy on Sunday because the rest of the games will be dull?

Sort of makes some sense in the TV world, woeful for fans. This round especially, why isn't the Richmond and Geelong game on separate days? I do like them putting all the top sides on the same day that's a positive

He would have to kick a massive bag against WCE in round 24 to even think about being picked for the first final.
