Why is Simpson always coaching from the sideline it’s not actually working it’s making us look like an u12 team, not professional.

Our young players are being introduced into an environment where there is no repercussions for poor performance, standards are very low, our senior players or most of them are just collection a pay cheque.
This is not the environment you want your young players coming into.
You want them to grow with a coach, you want them to see that the senior players are as hungry as they are.
That type of environment is almost impossible for a 11 year coach to provide.

Won clearances, same amount of i50s. Only lost contested by 6.

Just inside 50 efficiency.

I dunno, it isn’t all doom and gloom
It isn't. We aren't yet as dysfunctional at our worst last year and we're winning our own ball. Everything else is a mess though, no synergy between players or offensive play is so haphazard.

No coach would be successful with this list . Yeah sack the coach and I am not against it anymore at least we can find something else to whine about and put the poor fella out of his misery

It’s not about winning games. It’s about a new coach, new message, new non negotiables and all based around your new kids. We are still planning around the sane old blokes.

We were never winning any of our first 4.

the blow outs have been annoying and worrying.

I thought before the year we have 3 blocks of winnable matches so hopefully we're playing better by these blocks...

rds 5-8
rds 12-16
rds 19-22

fingers crossed

The change will happen mid season if the trajectory gets worse.

Been a rough start as to who we have played, but Round 5 will be the big test. A winnable game. Lose badly in that and the noise will be very loud.
The last two weeks we have played 2 of 3 teams we managed to beat last year and been smacked by 10 goals by them this year.

End of last year was the time, doing it now doesn't give the new or interim coach much to work with, doubt it would change much

Take another pick 1 and do it at the end of the year
Would rather let Schofield coach the second half of 2024 and then open up the field with a thorough recruitment process.

No one can be confident of a single win this year.

In fact I doubt we go in favs v anyone

I hope things improve soon A natural improvement as the season progresses like last year would be nice.

Afl gifted our best chance of beating the 2nd bottom side

Are we? Today, equal I50’s, beat them in clearances, including in the centre.
The forward line function and our inability to take opportunities was arguably the major issue.

This is such a misreading of situation.

We won clearances cos we had extras around the ball. As soon as it came out, dogs had extras around the ground which helped them
Move the ball with ease.

Go and check out all our inside 50’s compared with theirs and tell me how the two are equal.

A high bomb from Yeo as a shallow inside 50 is not equal to the quality of inside 50 ball the bulldogs delivered.

I don’t care what the stats sheet says. We were out worked, out done and out played.

This “we had same number of I50’s” is a misnomer.

If we don’t win any of the first 2 blocks, I sure as hell don’t want to win any in the third.

If you have been paying attention to those in the know , our worst was yet to come with change, as the team gells, happening towards the end of the year.
We have to suck it up and not carry on like spoilt brats.

I cannot agree more with everything you said, there is zero pressure on spots and that simply comes down to the coaching panel. Why would you perform if you know you won’t get dropped? Would you work harder if you can bludge and get paid at work?

Would an apprentice strive in that sort of workplace? Absolutely not

I feel like we are closer to a genuine turn this year than we were last year, even with the worse results.

Oscar and Liam back will be nice too.

Hough gets another body in my opinion. I know weightman kicked 2, but they weren’t exactly on Brady. Kept him to 8 touches. Really coming along

Hell of a feat that. Well done to all involved.
It’s a good question and I know everyone in here is either flat, emotional or straight out angry.

It was 76 points in the end but honestly I can think of several changes we didn’t take. 3 goals 12 should have been more like 8 goals 7 and I can think of a couple of opportunities like Watermans shot on goal from 10m out that didn’t even register.
Not trying to make any excuses but probably last year games like that we lose by 100points and were lucky to be that close.

Today probably should have been a 40-50 point loss. We competed all day just butchered opportunities entering fwd 50 and also shots on goal.

Our unforced turnovers are horrendous as well and usually end in a score against us.

That’s a somewhat simplistic way of looking at it. GWS are a significantly different team that we took on in Round 2 2023, that being Kingsley’s second game in charge.

The Bulldogs, early in the season, fresh having not left their state thus far are a different proposition.

We’ll see when we have some genuinely winnable matches. Round 5 is the one to watch.
