Footy has finally returned and its the same old cheat of an umpire, a lot to take from the game though. what changes would you like to see for Port Adelaide next week?

OUT: Darcy, Hughes, Colyer
IN: Hogan, Wilson, Serong

Out
Colyer what a joke
Human or Hughes
Darcy

Lobb to ruck full time. Proof after both games when Darcy is off we take over

Hogan forward
Wilson backing
Serong to half forward

Out -
Taberner - he is too stupid in general play and hopeless in front of goals.
Bewley - soft, makes terrible decisions and for all his vaunted kicking he never seems to get it anywhere near one of our players.
Banfield - just ordinary.
Shultz - ditto.
Darcy - injured or just not good enough at this point, take your pick.

In - Hogan, Sturt, Serong, Wilson if fit, Hill if fit, McCarthy if fit.

2.3 against the current AA FB. Guarantee he doesn't get dropped. Should have been at least 3.2 if Margetts didn't cheat him.

Coyler an experienced player is a much bigger issue then everyone of the rookies you listed.

We all see it differently. I thought Colyer was pretty good.
Taberner is just a stupid footballer. He can take a mark and when he kicks straight he's handy but he can't even do that anymore.

Colyer was actually all right in the second half, clean with the ground ball.
Banfield was no good, heard footsteps at a crucial moment in the last, dropped simple balls. I get he was playing the hardest position on the ground as defensive forward but he must go.
Darcy, Banfield, Schultz out.
Hogan, sturt, Hill in

Banfield

If Shill is good to go then I’d like to see him in, we had no one to break the lines today. He & Wilson will do that & we’ll look a lot better for it.

Matera is the most frustrating for me. He will not bodyline the ball & tries to knock it clear with 1 hand to snap mercurially instead of doing the basics & getting ball in hand. He’s no Walters.

At one point Fyfe ran through him to collect the ball because Matera was running around it in circles.

Out: Darcy (inj), Schultz (or Matera, agree with others it has to be one of), Banfield, Colyer

In: Meek, Hogan, Sturt, Wilson

Young should hold his spot and happy to see Serong get a debut. Maybe not our worst today but I just don't rate Cox in defense, not sure Watson is up to it yet but will be happy when Hamling/Pearce replace him.

I would give Matera one more game to maintain his spot.

Coyler is likely to be dropped. He only got 11 disposals. Hayden young got 11 disposals and he is a 1st gamer.

So given the choice, you rather 11 disposals off a rookie than a 28 year old.

Banfield had a poor game but kicked a goal. He should be dropped but might get play next week.

Darcy is injured. That means theres a very good chance Llyod meek has to play. I somethimes wished we kept Scott Jones this season

Mark Duffield: Injury to Fremantle’s Sean Darcy releases Dockers selection squeeze and paves way for Jesse Hogan’s return

No disrespect to Sean Darcy and hopefully his jarred knee is nothing too serious, but to borrow from Paul Keating – it may be the injury that Fremantle had to have.
If Jesse Hogan’s form in an unofficial hit out for the “twos” was as good as reports say, then Hogan plays next week and a squeeze on for the Fremantle talls has been resolved by availability.
They were always going to look too tall with Hogan in the team if Rory Lobb, Darcy and Matt Taberner were all playing. Now they physically can’t all play.
Lobb might want to be a forward ruck – but he is going to have to be a ruckman – for now. Play Taberner and Hogan in attack – get Sam Sturt back in there after his back setback and this will start to look like an emerging football team.
For the second time in two outings under Justin Longmuir, the Dockers were brave and competitive against Brisbane at the Gabba. For the umpteenth time in umpteen outings since Ross Lyon joined the club preaching effort over skill execution in 2012, it was failure to execute cleanly that cost the Dockers.
One of the great umpiring howlers in recent memory from Dean Margetts – a goal line mark to Taberner at the start of the final term that wasn’t paid - didn’t help.
But when Fremantle looks at the mistakes that cost them their second hard fought game in as many games spread over three months most of those errors were self-inflicted…….and avoidable.
Handballs that hit grass instead of hands. Straight forward passes to teammates that hit the ground ahead of the leading player – these are the things that make winning harder for the Dockers. They need to set higher standards on basic skill execution and they need to make hard calls on those who can’t shift the standard of their execution.
That recurring and annoying fact aside, this was another glass half full effort from Justin Longmuir’s young team.
First gamer Hayden Young was a split second shy of the tempo he will need to find to show off his silky left foot but he was already in the right position numerous times to get the ball.

Hayden Young of the Dockers

Adam Cerra’s brilliant second quarter was a reminder of what is possible. His quiet last quarter was a reminder of the work still to do.
Griffin Logue’s second half effort on Charlie Cameron after the Brisbane gun had taken Ethan Hughes to the cleaners with four first half goals showed the young Dockers defender is flexible as well as athletic.
A couple of Logue’s decisions when in possession showed he can still be a bit dizzy with the ball in his hands.
They did show resilience after the Lions threatened to split them open in the first and third quarters. They also showed trust and belief in Longmuir’s game plan and structures to work their way back into both quarters and the match.
Normally when the glass is half full you just add water. The Dockers need to add skill – which of course is easier said than done.

Nah I recon we'll put Lobb in as ruck, add Hogan to the forward line and Tabs can pinch hit in the ruck.
