Lambert and Rayner the obvious outs.

Thinking Rayner down to a mid or forward rook - Barry possibly, but not sure whether to trade Lambert up to Heeney or take more of a risk and go to Walters, Acres or potentially even Taranto.

$100k leftover, what do people think?

Can't go wrong with either Heeney or Walters.

Chad's not a certainty to miss, but yeah - nervous.

What's this about Smith? Have I missed something?

Apparently these scans that he and Hurley had yesterday were precautionary and the Bombers expect he will face the Dogs but he's at least some sort of possibility of missing whenever you go in for a scan.

I've definitely got itchy fingers when it comes to Treloar. If he's named on the I/C again I might just part ways. He also spent way too much time up forward last game too and was super lucky to get 90 out of him with a couple of 2nd half goals. Very wary of him being dicked around by Bucks just like Adams owners have already fully felt wrecking Adams as a POD this season.

He's a gun mid who appears not to be being properly utilised by someone that for some god forsaken reason manages to hold down a head coaching gig of one of the biggest clubs in the land. Maybe it's because he carrying some sort of niggle that is restricting his midfield minutes hence the light duties last week. Either way there are plenty of question marks I have hovering over his scoring capacity after two rounds of data now.

If I wasn't ranked as high as I'm fortunate to be right now (36th) I wouldn't be so aggressive to side swap him after just two games. But there are plenty of early bolters like an underpriced Selwood who seem guaranteed high midfield minutes and should be tagged less often than seasons past with GAJ now running around out there too.

Any other Treloar owners considering jumping off this week?

No. Abuse Buckley as much as you like, but he needs to put a forward line together and his ideal line up would look something like this:

Fasolo Cox Goldsack

De Goey Reid Elliott and then he'd have Wells and Broomhead rotating through there as well but they are ALL out injured, suspended or unfit.

So the likes of Adams and Treloar have been played forward, I think because Bucks would like some reward for effort when we get the ball inside 50, and we have a relative plethora of midfielders. Jaiden Stephenson isn't going to kick a winning score on his own at this stage of his career.

Fasolo will be back soon I think, and De Goey and Elliott play VFL this weekend. Wells is a couple of weeks away. I think Treloar will be back in the middle and Adams probably goes back to the half back experiment (which is dumb IMO. I don't agree with everything Buckley does by a long shot, but I do understand him wanting quality finishers inside 50, and sometimes you gotta rob Peter to pay Paul) soon.

And his scores haven't been THAT bad. Yes we want more. But the situation isn't tradeworthy in my opinion.

Has Ed Curnow been tagging?

that would scare me if he went to treloar

Out on a tangent..perhaps Sicily and Raynor out.
Swing Garlett to mids.
Get in Taranto and McPherson

Treloar had a restricted pre-season and has been managing some sort of injury. Didn't train last week, just jogged laps. I think this is what's affecting his game rather than Buckley playing him out of position.

rumoured to be groin related still - either way something is affecting him

i have Adams and Treloar :'(:'(:'(

(and Beams and Zerrett)

not ultra concerned about Treloar, think he still plays major midfield time as long as he's out there. but my god its tempting to swap them both for Dusty and Gibbs or even Coniglio for the cash

Yeah plenty of question marks over him Toxic. If he's named on the I/C or in the forward line that will probably be the straw that breaks this camel's back so I'll see what the team sheets look like.

Although starting on the I/C is often a minor thing it just makes it all that harder to get off to a great start and if you have only say 10-15pts in the 1st qtr well then you are playing catch up all game just to land a semi respectable score for the price paid.

Sometimes you have to be a little ahead of the curve (with a big dollop of luck) to press hard for rank. Last week I made the switch from Hibbo to Simmo after seeing the writing on the wall regarding Hibbo's and Simmo's respective roles and I now see plenty of coaches making a similar move this week.

I'm definitely more uncertain on Treloar and will take on board the forum's thoughts but I do see some red flags that may effect at the very least his short term scoring capacity if not his long term.

Don't reckon I can afford to hold Lambert unfortunately. Even with a projected 80 this week, he'll drop $50k. If he scores in the 40s or 50s again that obviously becomes even worse.

He was a PoD selection who I'd now say certainly won't be a top 6 forward and probably not even top 10.

Yeah sadly Lambo has to go if you are playing for rank. He may come good later in the season and may even have a decent stretch at some point but there aren't many things worse than having a POD that sucks arse early in the season.

It's a major rankings killer and probably a league killer too. Little point having a bunch of trades left at the end of the season if you have no finals worth playing because you lost a heap of early league matches due to heavily under-performing PODs.

PODs get us all mate ;)

you mustn't be far away from Lambert and Raynor for Acres and Taranto?

About $30k short. Sure I'll figure something out!

I'm backing Merrett in this week. He and Neale seemed to cancel each other out a fair bit last week and hopefully he can get back to his tonning ways.

I'm struggling with Kreuzer. Even if he is named this week, he could be a late out again or he could struggle as groin/adductor injuries are bad news for ruckmen (well they're bad news for most players but especially ruckmen). Rayner also needs to see the door, however Sicily can stay on the bench for a week with Naughton on the field who seemed to build a bit of confidence against the Eagles.

Kreuzer to Lycett
Rayner to Gowers.

That will leave me with a lot of cash and I'll fix up my backline the following week to bring in Simpson.

I wouldn't take starting on the interchange bench as the be all and end all. Kelly (Geelong) didn't come onto the ground until after the 10 minute mark of the first quarter yet finished with 39 points. Treloar seemed to start on the bench regularly last year yet still scored well.
Additionally, where they are named on Thursday night often has no relevance to where they actually play.

Option 2 - Zac will ton up big style this week.
Option 2 wins out if Bonner and Taranto can become season long keepers. Merrett copping a tag is a worry, last season he had a run of 4 games where he scored 96, 82, 96, 91 and was tagged in most of these.
Taranto might be a good F7-M9 if he can hold an 85+ average
Bonner I worry about what his output will be when Pittard and Broadbent return. Port aren't all that known for sharing the ball around in D50 either.
