H Hustwaite or H Morrison (omit)

We lost 3 forwards and you are only bringing 1 in?
We need to include Gunners and/or Rama as well imo.

Seamus might need to wait a week or so.

Didn’t Hardwick train to play forward? Here is the opportunity as he is a mark/ kick type forward

S Butler

Resting ruck

I'd be disappointed if Gunners plays. Was underwhelming in the 2s. Played better when he was higher up the ground.

If he can't find separation against VFL players he won't at AFL level.

Yes, all true.
Maybe this is the week he does actually play as a forward.

Unfortunately I agree that Gunston is well and truly past it……hello separation my old friend

Just don’t repeat it too often as others are pushing he be included this week

OUT:
  • Watson
  • Breust
  • Lewis

IN:
  • Butler
  • Ramsden
  • Mitchell

Mitchell - Frost - Hardwick
Weddle - Sicily - Scrimshaw

Meek - Worpel - Newcombe
Amon - Nash - Ward

Moore - Ramsden - MacDonald
Butler - Chol - Ginnivan

Bench:
D'Ambrosio - Mackenzie - Impey - Hustwaite / Morrison

Sub:
Morrison / Hustwaite

Potentially some flexibility to move Hardwick forward with Mitchell coming in, Weddle, D'Ambrosio and Impey can all play defence. Amon gets to play on a wing too.

Amon on a wing?!?! That's an interesting idea...

This would be a bigger upset than last time we upset them.

The glimmer of hope is we are their bogie team, for some unknown reason.

Yep - that all makes sense. Fair bit of flexibility with the potential inclusions.

In: N.Reeves, J.Serong, S.Mitchell, S.Butler, M.Ramsden, F.Maginness

Out: L.Breust (groin), M.Lewis (hamstring), N.Watson (ankle)

How would that be? They were premiership favourites beating most teams in their way last year, feel like both teams are not too far off each other at this current point. Our good game is coming sooner or later

Yes it is a interesting side, I hope we don't play two specialist rucks the third in gets interesting. Ramma deserves a shot and could form a nice mobile duo with Chol. Both could rotate on the ball in the ruck if required.

For mine
- Mitchell is automatic down back.
-Butler is a straight swap for a fwd.

I would like to see Serong come in who can play back and use Weddle, Sicily or Scrimshaw as the 2nd traditional target with Chol. Ramma to play as a 3rd tall Fwd/Ruck (D.hale role).

Fair point.
More so our injury list and lack of form from key players.

The outs may give us a chance to trial some structural changes - expectations of a win will be low.

I’d add seamus and serong to backline and move weddle and Amon out.

Finn to tag Daicos, likely as a defensive forward. Butler and Ramsden to come in. I’d chuck weddle forward as a roaming 3rd tall - he’s a tricky match up. We’d then have too many hff - croc to sub (better suited to have an impact than Morrison)

Hardwick Frost Sicily
Seamus Scrimshaw Impey
Amon Nash Ward
Ginnivan Chol Finn
Weddle Ramsden Butler
Meek Worpel Jai
I: HH Serong Moore Massimo Sub: Croc

Likely won’t happen but I reckon that looks like a far better balanced side (but very unproven). Defence has more guys who can defend. Forward line looks a lot more mobile - a lot of running power (all of Finn, weddle, ramsden, butler will be hard to catch on transition) and more defensive intent.

Not sure about Reeves returning I know he did really well at VFL but has struggled at AFL this year.

Can he play with Meek we will find out.

Ramsden can play forward when Meek is in the ruck, but Reeves will be the odd one out looks like bench time which means we will be a runner short.

Hopefully he doesn’t make the Final Cut and we bring in butler or a runner.

Good in’s.

Makes everyone who performed well at Box Hill get a bit of recognition.

I assume Ramsden, Butler and Finn come in.
