Trades Round 4 trades (aka We Need to Talk About Rocky)

Will need to await medical report. Even if in, is he likely to slow down the next few weeks and actually have peaked in value?

Plenty of good options at or around his price makes it hard (or easy?)

Drew and Duursma will get another week. Thinking the biggest priorities are Rocky (if he doesn’t get up) and Goldy though. Setterfield still has cash to make. Gibbons to Stack would also be nice though.

I’d like to hope Rocky is fit, plenty of players still play the next week after a concussion.

I know he wasn’t doing overly well before he went off but he’s coming up against Richmond and we leak so many points at the best of times. When you take out Dusty and potentially Cotchin from our midfield he should have a field day. I hope he plays because I won’t be trading him.

On the chopping block for me is Zac Williams, Brodie Smith and Will Setterfield.

I’ve got Jarrod Witts who is still yet to go below 90 but I really want to look at moving him into Gawn ASAP.

Would really appreciate any advice on team, specifically, whether I should spend the coming weeks trades on getting out my inactive rookies. I have 116k in the bank and can manage a straight out trade of say -

Hore -> Clark
Brander -> Rozee / Miers

Or would I be better off trading out only one of those and using the second trade upgrading Sexton / Williams? Basically I'm not sure whether I should prioritize income at this stage by upgrading under performers or interchange non-picked players.

Haha can't believe I wanted to trade out Setterfield earlier this round. Planned a nice little downgrade/upgrade and everything. All for nothing now that all these problems have emerged: Crisp, BSmith, Rockliff.

Rockliff stays in if he is named, Crisp to Lloyd is the ideal scenario. Rocky traded out if he misses next week, probably down to Libba so I can start building up a Macrae-Lloyd fund.

I will be chasing Boak all year and he will keep scoring 120s until I get him. Same with Lloyd. Both were in my team days prior to round 1, makes me sick

Whether its up to Gawn or down to Mumford will depend on what is required with Rocky.
Its a shame you can't select Rowan Marshall in the position he actually plays

Well I've slipped from 352 round 1 to 3.5k round 2 to almost 14k after round 3, so maybe I should just not trade and stop shooting myself in the foot with abominable trade ideas... But on second thought Gibbons to Stack is so straightforward and will allow me the cash for Brodie Smith to Whitfield/Boak, will probably go to Boak with him playing the Tigers. Loads of problems... Rocky's concussion, Crisp's huge fluctuations, Sicily playing KPD, Gibbons, Balta, Burgess and Atkins not making enough cash, Setterfield, Nankervis playing a fair bit at full forward. Will back the premiums I've picked though.

Also forgot to mention, Sheed is a worry now. Role clearly changed and he pushed fwd a lot. He isn't kicking 3 goals every week no matter how much swag he has. I think he drops back to an 85 average now. Midfield suddenly looks very weak with Taranto (despite going well this week) probably going to drop in average as well once Jelly plays more mid and ward is back. Trading Cripps last week was horrible, he is going to be a top 5 mid ffs

Well have to look at Heeney being my first upgrade target. Will only get more midfield time as he gets over his ankle issue. He's all class. Clean hands, takes a contested mark. Sharp around goals. Slight discount.
