Although it's now going to cost $90K more to bring him in this week, is Preuss worthwhile to bring in this week as R3 only to use him as a cash cow. That is of course assuming his role at north goes back to being a bit part player at North. If he continues to spank out 100+ games he becomes R2 and I sell off Sandi.
He's definitely worthy both for pts and as a cow. Every week he's cementing himself further into their best 22. If Norf are smart they'll continue to groom him as Goldys heir apparent. He's Mumford MkII

Locked in Smith>Newman.

Considering whether to turf Shaw.
Could revert back to a 2/0/6 backline with the addition of Newman and bring in SPMurphy to complete my mids....or simply replace him with either Lloyd or Montagna in defence....or hold. Thoughts?

Current backs:
Shaw Doc Adams March Hampton Otten (Stewart Newman)

Mids: Danger Treloar Tich Heppell Rocky Beams GAJ SPP

Its a big gamble, purely from a cash cow perspective. You're committing yourself to two trades to be able to cash in, and for that type of investment you'd want to make 350k to make it worth while.

Understand you need to be aggressive to make up the ground, but it can be a long season and trades will become like gold later in the season.

Glad I don't have to make such decisions. You do realize of course that as soon as you trade Shaw out he will score 150. Don't ya love DT. :p

Shaw appears to be losing a lot of points to Williams, Wilson and Haynes coming out of defense - he's no longer their only exit option.

Edit:
Went Stewart to Newman and JOM to Murphy+$106k in the kitty

Leaves me with this:

So far looking at Stewart to Newman and JOM to Murphy+$98k or JOM to Oliver+$174k

I might even keep smith for another week and go stewart > newman then i can put the E on newman and loophole him if he scores well again !

I mean should you be trading rookies for cash at this point right? Build up that war chest for a Murphy/Zerret

Or sideways trade some poor performers?

In normal times that would be so. Problem this year, so far, is that there haven't been too many rooks that are going to fatten that much. Pickett, Stewart and Eddy are not going to make us a lot of cash based on current performances so we will have to hope that some new blood, such as Newman, comes on the scene in the next few weeks.

If Eddy can pump out a game this week like his 2nd game against Freo then he may be ok. Being a KPF there is a tendency of yoyo scoring so can only hope he kicks a couple and still carries a negative BE through.

But yeah, my hopes for Stewart and Pickett is low now, same with Hannan

I still feel that O'Meara is a jet and has the potential to pump out 100s every now and will average in the 80s. That being said, he still has a few more dollars to add to the bank imo. That is why I am reluctant to waste a trade at this early stage although I do have the cash to upgrade him to Oliver, Watson or Murphy.
?????

Yeah I can't see Stewart making much more coin and wanted to get aboard the Newman train. I've managed to nail my rookies this year with Preuss, SPP, Barrett, Stewart, Otten, Hampton, Marchbank, Butler, Pickett, Miles and Eddy all making coin for me so a side rookie trade is a luxury I could afford. I've only got EVW and Hibberd giving me duck eggs ATM.

He might. In the meantime, I've got SPS putting up roughly the same numbers on my bench. I feel the money can be used on my field better elsewhere :)

What's everyone thoughts on Greene?? Worth keeping?? His BE is 98.

Also is anyone jumping on the Murphy train?? I mean it's the lowest he is gonna be for the year you would think.

I jumped aboard the Murphy train last week when he was well and truly under priced.
TOOT TOOT!

If Goldstein gets dropped the I'll be tempted to do

Nankervis > Preuss
Greene > Riewoldt

I'm pretty dissapointed with Greene. H'es literally playing as a deep forward, he has no stints in the middle at all even with their injuries. Every time they go forward there's so many to pick from - Cameron, Johnson, Smith, Green, Reid. His role and great forward line at the giants is limiting his scoring. Plus Riewoldt's role is fantastic for DT at the moment.

Pruess should start to dominate if he is given sole ruck honours plus he still has a lot of cash to make.

The fact these these are fairly sideways and the fact I've used a few trades already is my concern.

I'm keen to get hear some thoughts!

Put up a screenshot of your team and I'll work it out. However, I feel Nank is a keeper due to his DPP.

I have a massive problem with Shaw at the moment who is scoring basically like Hampton, Otten and Newman, so like you'd have with Greene, I'm looking at most points on ground so bringing in Stef Martin for Shaw via DPP at the same price who is averaging 35 ppg more currently is tempting, this also means I can move Nank forward and bench a Butler type so I should be getting 15-20ppg more up forward now all for a sacrifice of 1 trade, but it should mean 45-60ppg more per week, so if I'm smart with trades later on, it shouldn't matter as the points on ground are vital in order for me to catch up.

Later in the season Shaw could be cheap back up at 400-450k, but I bought him in to average 95+, he's playing like an 80-85avg type currently which is pathetic.

So, question for you is, what did you expect Greene to average? I feel he should be around 90-95, but there isn't many standout forwards yet so you potentially could get away with a high 80s average.
