I wouldn't complain too much about the match day thread atmosphere, it is the environment that has been created here.

Posters try to be positive, get shouted down with countless sack Hinkley replies and think Why bother.

I'm looking forward to the game, there's a lot to like about this Port team, that midfield is so deep and talented it can take on any team, tall defenders at last, and a good mix of talent up forward. Plus Soldo who is fun to watch in the ruck.

This should be a quality game after the dross of the past two nights, perfect conditions and two teams in strong form.

I expect Drew to put the clamps on Serong and the rest of our midfield to go to work.

This has aged well.

Man we're so incredibly frustrating to watch.

It's just all the little things. We're just not a good team. The good teams execute the little things. I grew up watching the ultra disciplined SANFL Magpies teams of the 80s and 90s, that won flags on the regular, because they did the hard, tough, simple things right, all day long. They may not have done all the flashy shit, and at times we may have gotten outclassed, but the one thing we did, which translated to premierships was winning key moments and doing the basic things right.

I miss that. I hate watching Burton just shit himself all over the field. Key backs in 2:1s that can't even shepherd. Small forwards in there for 'pressure' that just let their opponents run around them.
