Ginbey and Waterman playing reasonably well, Williams and TK trying as well. Most of the boys are looking tired. Poor decision making and execution creeping back in as a result. The ins are having very little impact, which is a bit concerning.
thought Long did some good things with limited ball

They're clearly lacking intensity - and it's only round 5. They're going to need something special just to get them on the ground until the bye.

What’s that got to do with your list management??

You had to start over 2 years before you did. You have a lopsided list with no star quality in the middle.
Run along. Not the time or place.

Kids struggling against men . Can not ask players to do what they are not capable of. But if they all gave longs effort we would be better of. Great kid. Every Cat is far bigger or faster and cleaner than our match up. Keep building.

They also play their role 100% better- you have to think coaching.

The first part of this season has been significantly different both to the previous 1.5 seasons and we copped injuries to a third of the team in the derby. You're either trolling or not paying attention. I suggest adjusting your expectations or you may as well turn the TV off for the rest of the season. What this game is inevitable of is having to play a number of non-best-22 players against a good team. I expect things will look a little better when we have Shuey and Edwards back in particular.

Thanks

Shuey hasn’t been able to stay onfield for a couple of years so we can’t rely on him.

Edwards?

It’s debatable how much Sheed and his statuesque pace helps us. Guv helps, if nothing else because he allows us to hide this version of Barass :)

Cripps and Ryan are upgrades but they don’t assist us upfield where we are getting slaughtered.

There are a lot of good players in this team who aren’t performing either well or with sufficient effort/care. That’s the disappointment.

From the coaching perspective we’ve had some positive developments earlier in the year but it’s a system that’s actually foreign to the coach. It’s Jarrad Schofields system - maybe we should let him develop the players for that system in the positions he’d like to play them?

We are a poor side but that’s not something that the club, the players or the fans should just accept with a sit back and wait approach.

West Coast's defence at the moment is wow, terrifyingly bad. The goals/inside 50s ratio is staggering.

Other than the obvious things, just quietly Barrass is having an absolutely dreadful season. He has been consistently smashed every week, regardless of the game situation or opposition. Even against GWS it was only inaccurate kicking that prevented Hogan having an absolute day out. Something is plainly not right with him, he's a shell of the player he was last year.

Defence
Jones has been good
Rotham has been good as well but spent a lot of time on the bench dont know why
Duggan has been solid

Barrass has been so so terrible(he has forgotten the one !% and gives up on the chase)
Yeo getting well beaten
Witherden been average
Hough has tried but undersized at times

I would like us to throw Petch down back see if he can gives us some drive
God knows he wont see the footy playing in our forward line

Anyhow. Hopefully we find some fight in the second half. Tough day. Us in our current “state” vs the near full strength reigning premiers…

Nice to see Ginbey get his first. Culley been ok… I am keeping my expectations on him in check. A long way to go.

I get the critique of our defence but when the ball is coming in like that, over and over…

TK getting tagged, needs to work through it. May as well chuck Yeo in the middle for a bit.

Hopefully we keep pushing forward (JJ, Hunt and co with the ball movement). Nothing to lose.

You have a midget midfield and no forward line, have absolutely ****ed your rebuild with the Jackson trade.

Don’t know why you’re so chippy when we are literally closer to a flag than you lot because your list won’t get near it.

At least after our bottom out of a couple of years we will be ready to have a real tilt again.
Brodie and Johnson are 190plus.

Half time couldn't come soon enough. Need some adjustments if we're going to win this one.
Hard to do much with what we have at our disposal but we could run with something like- Yeo to the midfield, Kelly to move up forward and JD back .
Far from ideal but can't be worse than what we are putting up and might finally get Kelly away from being continually held with no help from the umps. jE has been hopeless, may E giving him a stint backline shake something loose
Cupboard is pretty bare but so grasping at straws.
