Toby not his usual brilliant self today as well..also seems that Jesse’s incident with Lewis Young maybe looked at ..

ANOTHER Callaghan blunder.

Kick straight to the opposition despite there being 2 team mates on either side of the Blues player.

Nothing about tonight’s performance (or the last few weeks really) has made me think we are a serious football team.

The form has been very patchy, for most of the season to be fair. The midfield is way too talented to be getting smashed the way they often are. Briggs isn’t playing the way he did for most of 2023, and I think that’s where it starts.

Huge clash against Brisbane next week. A win and it’s definitely back on track, a loss and there’s some question marks.

Do we think the Toby incident will be looked at ? I don’t have a good feeling about it. Wasn’t looking at the ball and contact with the head

I think we got a bit ahead of ourselves perhaps.
This will hopefully make us realise we can't play too flashy, which we can be at times.
It also highlights we need a better backup ruck option. I don't know what that is though.
Perhaps our best backup is Himmelberg.

Not sure it's about a better back up, Briggs has been well beaten for a few weeks even Rd.1 against Xerri dominated him

Kingers VERY disappointed with the whole midfield in a very short post-match conference.
He defended Toby's action as a legitimate mark attempt and seemed overall happy with Aleer.

Definitely didn't look like one of our games from centre clearances to the midfield.

Always knew the centre clearances would be a tough slog but would love to know what happened with our midfield.

We have even less downtime for our next game so unless there's an uplift I can't see us doing better for the Lions game.

Considering Kingley's post-match interview, I'd rather move Perryman back into the centre and bring back Haynes. Right now, we need height in the backline and a more specialised backman.

Callaghan performed very poorly today and should be dropped.

If Taylor is OK, then just the Perryman / Callaghan move.

I wouldn't be at all surprised if Briggs is 'managed' next week.

His form is way down on last year. Perhaps he needs a refresh.

At least we played 3 hours before Brisbane, so no disadvantage.
Our reserves played well , including both rucks.
I wonder if we play 2 rucks next week, or give Briggs a rest if he is injured.

The centre bounce clearance was an absolute disaster. I was at the game and could not believe how badly we were beaten. We definitely need more speed and agility in there more often.
Tom Green, since talking about himself and Matt Rowell, has been very ordinary. Finn Callaghan has/will go past him very soon.

The midfield has been been pretty ordinary for a few games this year. Too slow in there imo.

Please don’t talk about putting Preuss in there either… he’s a good month away from being a chance.

Green and Hogan more than likely will get a week each. That’s our four best not playing against the Lions. So dumb by two of our leaders.

And also, Harry Himmelberg is lucky to be getting a game. Don’t be fooled by numbers… he does some dumb stuff and it doesn’t get called out.

I reckon the issue was fumbles. We had our hands on it and starting running as if it was our ball. Tom was very unclean today. Uncharacteristically.
XOH was also fumbly, that happens
We missed Cogs who plays more accountable as well.

Brisbane played in slop all game so hopefully they have heavy legs.
It's Briggs or bust for the near future.

I'm a bit to and fro on this, but maybe just a little bit less social media is required at the moment.

When I see Tom Green getting a photo pre-match. smiling at the camera with the head band, it makes me wander whether the players are totally focussed on what's ahead.
