I hate the byes. If it weren't for the fact that we are having a crack at the best league, I would be happy to totally sacrifice one round (rd 14) and be super strong in the other two. Would give me a probable two out of three league wins. As this side is also the same one in my cash league, I am wearing two bloody different hats and I am still not sure which one should take precedence (league win or points). Like you, when I was looking at bringing in a defender last week, I went with Rich because it suited the bye rounds yet my head kept telling me Simpson was the better pick in the long term. I wish now I'd gone with Simpson. I think he will average 10 points a game more than Rich which would more than compensate for the donut in round 13.

Cause of cost, I am leaning to either Zorko or T.Mitchell. Both those players are fairly unique as well for the guys at the top end of the ladder.

Mills > Zorko
McCarthy > Keays

Will leave me 285K for next week to upgrade S. Gray if still not named or upgrade a Wells/Tippa.

Zorko is just a head at this stage after some research because of the bye rounds. He helps the dreaded round 14 nightmare.

Thoughts on Jackson Trengove? Only 1 week I know, but had 25 touches and 13 clearances for 95, should be a lock for the number 1 ruck for a while, $240,000. Would suit my byes perfectly and save a stack of cash. Any chance he can average around 80-85 for a while? Will struggle to win many hitouts I imagine if Martin belted him in it.

Do you intend to play him on field or just on the bench ?? He has had some horrific scores. Between round 2-5 he scored 37,18,38 and 32. Based off the weekends performance, he should be able to improve on that, but how much cash can he generate. He is not exactly cheap at 240K, which would only net 70K with a downgrade from Adams. What can he get to price wise ?? It means a guaranteed 2 trades as well, to bring him in and then move him on. I am not sure it is a great idea.

He's this week's quandary

1st time this year he's played as R1 in the Blivcas mould and certainly created some interest.
With Lobbe out for 12 weeks who knows

Lobbe is a spud and has done his knee. They dropped Dougal Howard back to the 2's again, and Trengove is their only option. Could punch out some decent scores if he is consistent. Would be a HUGE risk though bringing him in.

Ryder/Lobbe gone, Howard average and he won 13 clearances as the main ruck. I don't think he is losing it soon. His history is kind of irrelevant for me as he was a lock down KPD. He got belted by Martin in the HOs though.
