Round 9 Tips and Crowd Expectations

Your tall forward line isn't the reason why you have been winning. Its your midfield. And I'd say the Bulldogs will probably have you covered in that area, and hence why I think they will win. Boyd, Cross, Cooney and Griffin will be hard to stop, especially if Kerr and Embley don't play.

Carlton V Geelong 10 pts
St Kilda V Melbourne 23pts
Port Adelaide V Fremantle 31pts
Richmond V Essendon18 pts
Brisbane V North Melbourne 12 pts
Collingwood V Adelaide 45 pts
Sydney V Hawthorn 24 pts
West Coast V Western Bulldogs 15 pts

never said our forwards are the reason weve been winning, its been a team performance, freo should watch us play and they may be able to learn a thing or 2 :p

Carlton vs Geelong - Blues have never beaten the Cats at ES before and with the sad news of Bobby Davis' passing, Cats to pay tribute to him with a win - Cats by 16pts

St Kilda vs Melbourne - Must win clash for both teams, picking Saints purely because its at ES - Saints by 9pts

Port Adelaide vs Fremantle - Couldn't care less about this one, no confidence in the Power whatsoever, tipping the Dockers (with no confidence though) - Dockers by 11pts

Brisbane vs North Melbourne - If Roos have started to turn the corner, they can't drop a winnable game like this one - Roos by 12pts

Richmond vs Essendon - Should be a cracking contest, Bombers are flying but with a few mssing the Tigers are every chance if they don't get blown away early like they did last week - Bombers by 20pts

Collingwood vs Adelaide - Going from the Suns one week to the Pies the next was always going to be tough for Crows, but getting them on the rebound makes the job near impossible - Pies by 44pts

Sydney vs Hawthorn - toughest of the round to pick, will go down to the wire but Swans have a huge advantage at the SCG and with the best ruckman in the comp - Swans by 3pts

West Coast vs West Bulldogs - Despite getting back on the winners list, still not convinced by the Dogs yet. Eagles are much improved and will get another home win - Eagles by 13pts

Carlton V Geelong 22 pts - Geelong playing great, Carlton are playing good footy too but bye won't help.
St Kilda V Melbourne 34pts - Saints are gone. Will beat us next week probably though....
Port Adelaide V Fremantle 28pts - too many injuries ANNNDDD (notice how i'm not blaming only injuries) just out of form to travel.
Richmond V Essendon 7 pts - very interesting game, Watson and Hocking are big outs, but I think they'll win still. Just.
Brisbane V North Melbourne 14 pts - Brisbane will fight for the usual 2-3 qtrs but fall over the line. Won't be a big margin though.
Collingwood V Adelaide 55 pts - because they're Collingwood.
Sydney V Hawthorn 4 pts - Great game, Sydney win because its @ SCG.
West Coast V Western Bulldogs 26 pts - Eagles are playing fantastic, should win comfortably. Could win by more but won't take the chances, not that they'll be complaining.

Cant beleive how many are tipping Essendon by 30pts + with no Watson, Hocking, Welsh, Slattery , Gumbleton, Winderlich, Pears and Maybe Stanton or Hurley. I know they are a good team this year and playing well but if Rich get done by that much they will never beat Essendon.

Okay now I know we're without Watson, Hocking, Hurley, Slattery, probably Stanton (no I don't BOO him) and of course as always Dempsey, Winderlich, Welsh and Pears I'll change my tip.

Richmond Vs Essendon 18pts

You blokes forgotten Gumby already!

ROUND 9 (INDIGENOUS ROUND)

CARLTON v GEELONG (21) 48,000 @ Etihad Stadium
Another match of the round for friday night. Should be a close game between these two sides and a hard one to tip. However I don't like how the Blues are coming off the bye and I think this may a factor in the game. The Cats are in ripping form and will get the points.

ST KILDA v MELBOURNE (42) 32,000 @ Etihad Stadium
Couple of reasons why the Saints should win. The Demons are woeful at Etihad Stadium the home of St Kilda and have been ravaged by injuries and suspension. Both teams will be looking for big perfomances after distgusting games last week but Saints wont lose this one.

PORT ADELAIDE v FREMANTLE (7) 18,000 @ AAMI Stadium
Can't say its a game Im excited to watch, but its an important one for the Dockers to get back on track. There is no doubts they're a better side than Port but injuries and some poor form have hit hard. I would expect the Power to put up a show at home too. Freo just.

BRISBANE LIONS v NORTH MELBOURNE (15) 22,000 @ GABBA
This game could possibly be the upset of the round. Big J. Brown back and the Lions are due for a win soon surely. But I liked the game from the Kangas last week and they arent a bottom 4 side in my opinion. So should get a hold of Brisbane this week.

RICHMOND v ESSENDON (4) 74,000 @ MCG (Dreamtime at the 'G)
Some pretty big injury concerns for the Bombers coming into this game. And besides last weeks game a really good month for Richmond. This should go down to wire with both sides getting up and about for this special occasion. I reckon the Dons are a bit better though.

COLLINGWOOD v ADELAIDE (68) 40,000 @ Etihad Stadium
Last week was the loss that the 'Pies needed. This week will be the win that reminds everyone just who is still Premiership favourites. Look for Collingwood to come out blazing, despite deliberatly being in 2nd gear. Crows just not good enough despite getting close last year.

SYDNEY v HAWTHORN (17) 28,000 @ SCG
Seen the Hawks up close last week and was impressed how they went about it after suffering some injuries mid game. That will be a catalyst for a good run for the Hawks. Sydney however are hard to beat at the SCG and it will be a pretty exciting game. Hawthorn in a tight match.

WEST COAST EAGLES v WESTERN BULLDOGS (8) 38,000 @ Patersons Stadium
I believe the Dogs have turned it around and whilst this tip may suprise some, Im confident the Bulldogs will win at Subi. Got good run and were stiff against Freo a few weeks back. WCE have been super impressive and the big improvers but tipping a slip from them this week.

BYE: GOLD COAST SUNS

Carlton Vs Geelong 20pts - 51K

St Kilda Vs Melbourne 38pts - 24K

Port Adelaide Vs Fremantle 45pts - 13K

Brisbane Vs North Melbourne 5pts - 19K

Richmond Vs Essendon 31pts - 68K

Collingwood Vs Adelaide 52pts - 43K

Sydney Vs Hawthorn 25pts - 32K

West Coast Vs Western Bulldogs 18pts - 36K

LOL at the totally unwarranted love for Port. Let us not lose sight of how bad we currently are. I would not feel safe unless we were at least 65 points up with 10 minutes to go...

It's not love for Port per se. More an acknowledgement that Freo are down on form and players. Seriously, if we take another couple of injuries we'll have to forfeit matches.
