This is not any of that supercoach/dreamteam garbola! This is "unreal" footy, randomized text simulated matches where you and I are the players!

The Sweet FA is a fantasy footy league run via a random text simulator. Its been in action since 2001 and is currently enjoying its 15th season.

The "Roys FFC" (the Gorillas) have competed in this league since Season 03 in 2003. We've won a flag (Season 04), won a league Best & Fairest (@Broken, Season 05), and are currently considered the most active, flamboyant and entertaining of the eight competing clubs.

In Season 13 we made the First Semi-Final before being unceremoniously dumped on our rears by a rampaging Eastside Hawks. This was our first finals appearance in a few seasons, and the feeling is strong around the team that we'll improve even further this coming season are horrible and will never make the finals again unless if YOU join up and help us make it happen!

The game revolves around us, the actual forum contributors, as the playing squad. While conversing on the Fantasy Footy forum is recommended, and will ensure you the better positions on the ground, there is actually nothing you need to do. Its not dreamteam, or supercoach. You don't select anything, or submit any tips or choices. You just post the odd piece of support, so we know that you're onboard :) The more active you are, the better positions you get to play in. Then a random simulator plays the matches.

The Roys FFC are on the lookout for new recruits. There are Roys fans here on the Fitzroy board every day, and I urge you all to consider being involved. The entertainment value is second-to-none!

If you would like to participate, let me know. Post here, or PM me, or just go straight to the Official Roys Team Thread and declare your interest.

We are by far predominantly a Roys supporter's club, but we do have one St Kilda fan, one Brisbane Bears/Lions fan, and a couple of other blow-ins. There are ruours (spelled correctly, join the comp to find out why) that new teams may be joining next year, so we will need to bolster our playing stocks in case of any poaching.

Awesome rb29, you'll fit in well with royboy2 who is also on the team.Unfortunately, lions29 retired some seasons back.

Here's what you can do :
- I'll welcome you to the team on our Team Thread, ( click here ) and tag you there so you can hop on and say hello, or something weird and/or stupid like the rest of us do. This will just introduce you and get people aware you're on board (including the team selector).
- I will announce your signing on the Free Agents / Signings thread (here). You don't really have to do anything here. Just letting you know.
- At any stage, you can join in the conversations on the current Match Thread (the thread where the game result will be posted next Monday, click here). Posting in the match threads is the usual way in which team selectors rate you for getting a spot in the team, and upgrading to a better spot.

We have a Facebook page here if that sort of thing takes your fancy.

Anyways, it's all about the fun. Just post something cheery, silly or unintelligible in the match threads, and you'll be off and running :thumbsu:
