Also, "for mine" makes no sense at all. Is that an Aussieism? All my life it's been "For me", nowadays everyone seems to say, "for mine". "Mine" is possessive, and makes no grammatical sense in this context.

I was there. At great expense, but still... Cracking game, I thought, so impressed with PNG, who butchered a couple of tries, and I thought were very hard done by to have one disallowed. The Tongan singing just wonderful, and a bunch of Kumul girls were sat behind me who had a great time, really good atmosphere in the crowd. Shows the difference in holding a game at a proper RL venue, I think.

Managed to get through the game this morning. Kiwis were just ok. Goal kicking was very poor. Hughes was excellent. Commentary yawnful. The ref looked unfit and constantly had his hands on his hips. JWH, typical, but hardly a send-off or worthy of any suspended games like the commentary team kept ranting about.

So much still to do to win this.

Thus far I have not managed to catch a game that was closer than 16 pts. Maybe Rugby League should consider doing something similar to what the ICC have done with the T20 Cricket World Cup. Have a super 6 and let the rest play off for the top 6 spots in a preliminary comp. The top 6 in the preliminary comp then join the super 6 to play for 4 spots in the semis etc.

England beat Samoa 60-6 then Samoa beat Greece 72-4 so I hate to think what England will do to Greece.

You know what? you're right. Lets not bother having a World Cup at all. Especially when it's in England, where it always rains, the in-goals are too small, and the games are on TV at inconvenient times if you live in Sydney.

In fact the level of interest on this thread demonstrates precisely why league doesn't match union at international level. We have a great product, which could and should produce a great international comp. But responsibility for making that happens lies entirely with the NRL. if they wanted it to happen, it would. But they don't. And yes, it does pee me off no end.

And don't get me started on Penrith's attitude tp the WCC. We might as well cancel that too.
