Tarrant to Carlton through the PSD or no deal .................... I wouldn't give up the 2nd rd pick for him, and they would want a Bower/Armfield for him (I would only give up a Browne/Anderson)

Who the hell is Tarrent?

This man however would be of GREAT value to Carlton. The two above suggestions are just riduclous. We need a good, hard bodied defender and we need one now.

Gibbs can dream on, it is of once pronounced footy god, Ryan Houlihan.

I was going to make one of Sherman but I saw his picture on the footy god calendar and got err.... distracted.

Recent reports are that Freo will trade Tarrant back to the Pies for Fraser, which sounds like a reasonable deal, so i'd say we won't be seeing Tarrant in Navy Blue come 2011.

I'm not too fussed either way to be honest, just as long as we don't pay out of our arses to get him in terms of draft picks. :thumbsu:

Freo get reamed in that trade!

dear eric.....

unless a fantastic trade opportunity transpires....keep the picks and use them wisely,

cheers,

if worse comes to worse and we can't get the defender we need in trade week, i wouldn't mind picking up either mcguane or thursfield in the psd.

What is the word on assistant coaches? I think this will be crucial next year. Watching the pies dismantle Geelong was a real eye opener. As far as I can tell we have really being modelling our game on Geelong with a fast play on one at all cost one on one style. The fact is that that game style is not going to cut it at all at the top. I am worried that the likes of Yarran and Garlett are a fair way off having an engine to push up and work as hard as the Collingwood and Stkilda flankers to apply a whole ground press.
I think we need to get a coach in who has knowledge of how the Saints or Pies trained their players to apply this system.Plus we need to put a hell of a lot of work into aerobic fitness into our flankers. Maybe even look at altitude work somewhere?

Heard on the radio that James Sellar is going to Carlton for a fitness test Tomorrow.
What do you guys think of pick 31 and Sellar for Walker?

In fairness to the kid, the Crows have played him well out of position all his short time in AFL.

He is a key position forward, and the Crows have played him in the backline and in the ruck....

He dominated games at TAC level as a forward and I feel like Henderson, if developed as a forward he will become a solid player and a good addition to our side....

Put it this way....

He was pick #14 in 2006 as a 17 year old
He has had 4 years of development.
He is only 21 and has massive size - 196cm 98kg!
That is one solid lad.....
He is too small for a ruck, which is where he has been played, but he is a great size for a 2nd tall forward, and he has years on his side!
