Interesting to note the thread re- the media has been deleted from yesterday. I would have thought that there was MUCH worse things written on this forum over time that warranted being deleted in front of that. I thought the Media thread was the first decent conversation that has been had on this forum in many, many months! Oh well, back to talking about who gets paid what for another month......

I agree, i thought it was a reasonable enough discussion about a serious issue.

Spiros it's a public forum. I'll give you the general jist of things, you ask a question you get a reply. If you wanna have a private conversation exchange numbers!
my 2 cents :D

Any updates on recruits (recent or old)? Most clubs tend to keep cards close to their chest at this time of year... So maybe post rumours about opposing clubs (What you've heard etc).
What are ground conditions like at your club?
Who is burning up the track throughout pre-season?
Who will be the big movers in each division? Praccy matches organised?
Any takers? Would love to start discussing footy as it's getting close now!!!

He arrived in Kalgoorlie about three days ago to play for Mines Rovers - the reigning premiers. Sean Millane is their new coach - I assume he brought him across with him.

Doesn't sound like the most loyal of blokes? I've never heard of him.

Interesting if true.
Has he got a gold club card membership to Hay Street or are they paying him in Nuggets?

Cassett has played in more clubs than the Deltones. He pimps himself all over the place so who'd know. I wouldn't be suprised though if he did follow Sean.

I can definitely confirm that he has left Doveton for WA, he received a call from Millane and has made the journey.

It is also correct that he was pimping himself around at Lalor.

Good footballer that needs to find the cash quickly as once he can no longer play who knows what the future holds ? :D:D

Cassett and McKinley definitely playing in Kalgoorlie with Sean Millane. Clearnaces have been sought.

Clearances may have been sought but McKinley will be rejected over and over again unti he pays some of the coaching staff at Heatherton the $$$ he owes. Good luck paying John Bennett in person!

What has me baffled is how clubs still pay him upfront to play with them..... Surely they would know what he is like by now (around Melbo at least). This is definitely not the first time that this has happened.

South Yarra has indicated their interest to the SFL in fielding a Clubbies team this year. We obviously had 3 teams last year and have a few new blokes who are keen to give footy a try. The two other teams I've heard of that want to field teams are Mount Waverley and... wait for it... the Dragons! Good sign for the new club if they have that sort of depth. I've heard from my SFL sources that if the Clubbies get at least 4 teams they'll definitely be running out in 2009.

Doveton will be the 4th, we had 13-14 on the bench in the 2's last week, and 10-12 unavailable. We have heaps of blokes keen to make sure it goes ahead!!

You're right there Blac04, very impressed with the depth, numbers and character of the DEFC, will definately figure in he business end this year

The SFL has said if there are 6 clubs minimum, they will have a finals series.

I think top 2 sides will play off in a grandfinal.

I would assume there will be 6 clubs minimum.

I doubt the majority of clubs who have numbers to support a 'thirds' side are all from div 3.

The more cashed up clubs in Div 1 & 2 could surely field a 'thirds' side of their own.

I was told four clubs, so hopefully Doveton comes on board and we'll get at least the bare minimum, though six would obviously be great. I've heard Wayne Holdsworth speak before about the net number of players playing footy every week, so from that point of view an extra four teams boosts it by nearly one hundred. I think you will also find that a lot of the higher division clubs are playing a Colts side, so it might be asking a bit much of them to also field a Clubbies side. It may also happen that clubs become interested now that they know there's a possibility the Clubbies will get up and running.

Yeah sorry I should clarify, Four teams is the minimum amount the SFL want to get a clubbies division up and running. But they said they need 6 clubs minimum to include a finals series in the clubbies division.
