This one looks shiny and new - check out gum-tree? You could get lucky… although the trailer (has allegedly) already been taken!

Yeah that’s a crock of shit. He must have know the police would check his gumtree account for the prospective buyers. Don’t know what the point of lying about it is.

Totally, he’s not Rambo. The interesting thing about this story is why Hill would steal the gun and take it back to his camp, load it, fire it twice in the air at his own camp site where his lady friend is (knowing that Lynn has another gun) Then suddenly, out of nowhere ,stalk him with the gun? If Hill was any threat he had the perfect opportunity to shoot Lynn, but instead was shooting in the air. Makes no sense.

I’m guessing it’s illogical stuff like this the jury just couldn’t swallow.

Watching his ROI a second time I think would sow more doubts than convince doubters.

They only need to stick one hole in his narrative and his whole stack of cards collapsed.

He expected everyone to believe far too many extraordinarily things.

After watching the ROI, I can only see someone who is self absorbed.
There’s so many gaps to fill after watching the ROI.

Just his demonstration in his ROI how he blocked RH’s knife attack, twisted his wrist and pointed it back at him made me LOL. It’s straight out of a Jason Bourne movie. GAGF.

💯. The gumtree listing story was more scrambled than my eggs for breakfast!

Old mate was pretty dumbfounded when asked about his gumtree login & email (appears he didn’t prep the script for that answer!!!)

investigations revealed the (faux) listing for the trailer went up on 1 April then taken down on 2 April - that’s a snappy (supposed) purchase for a trailer! Maybe it was an April Fool’s joke?

That line of enquiry appeared to be a bit of a dead end - Oh, dunno some Asian guy… dunno what he did with it or where he took it… um yeah ok, he shipped it back to China with him?

Also no number plates and unregistered at the point of sale. No phone number around the time of sale - no email, text message etc. What a flog.

If he was really that smart he would have crushed or burnt both the car and trailer. ASAP

Neither would have been worth much.

He was on 200/300K a year.

Pilots can be remarkably cheap.

As with the gun. Why keep it?

Hubris me thinks.

Obviously the fact that he had been getting away with serious stuff for decades impacted his decisions.

He knew he was firmly a suspect in Lisa’s death. But he felt he was just too smart for them. Invincible. Untouchable.

He expected this round to be the same.

I actually think his decision to take the stand was part of his bravado. Hey look at me. You might think I did it. But you’ve got nothing.

That was his attitude to Lisas parents and friends.

Yeah not sure why he did take the stand. If he came off anywhere near that self entitled sanctimonious tosser he did in his ROI as on the stand good luck. Don’t think it helped him one bit.

Yes, I've been thinking that the whole thing is like he's taken tips from a combination of movie he has watched, as well as from Wolf Creek.

“Jetstar pilot Greg Lynn was allegedly caught by listening devices talking to himself about the deaths of elderly campers Russell Hill and Carol Clay - BEFORE he was accused of their murders.”

BEFORE … I hadn’t heard this before.

Well he has been in jail ever SINCE he was accused, so it must have been before.

Good article. I note how Hill was described by the fellows he spent time talking with as being an elderly gent and polite. Seems he spent a bit of time throughout the day chatting. Sort of aligns with his tearful daughter on 60
Mins saying he was not a violent or aggressive man but gentle and kind. She would know him better than outsiders. Someone said he had his teeth knocked out one time in a confrontation but who says that was his fault ?

Yes however he was known to stand his ground. No push over. He was a logger.

I’m thinking if Hill had his teeth knocked out he’s not the aggressive one otherwise the other person would have come off second best and Hill would have walked away with a full set of teeth and smile.

Police already had Lynn’s rego number and went to his house based on him being in the area though. Burning of the car would have only saved him painting it again.
Also, where would he have to put his shiny shovel?
