Still more disgusted that those who work in such an area are either discussing patients who attend OR posting about them online...wtf.

Back on topic: did the job that was required of him on gameday, as usual.

Just a pity the rest of the team couldn't do their job

All in all he does exactly what is asked of him every game - true professional - have heard he was a **** bloke off the field, as well, but sorted himself out once Lyon came along, but that's only what I've heard

Watched the game again and spent a bit of time looking at what he does at stoppages.
He's obviously clever enough not to overtly block his opponent or put his arm around them, like the lower class scraggers.

What I did notice though is just as his opponent is about to move for the ball (and does not have it), he grabs their lower arm or wrist. This obviously means his opponent can only go at the pill with one arm, even temporarily. In addition it results in the player losing a split second of timing, twisting and becoming off balance, typically turning towards Crowley. That can obvioulsy be difficult for the Umps to spot.

It's clearly cheating and the Umps need to wake up to it next year. In situations like this they should have one of the many spare Umps focusing on this sort of thing. He's got a way with it for a while and well done to him, but for the sake of the game, this stuff needs to end.

Okay.

Great thread, OP.

I am simply staggered at how Crowley has been allowed to play outside the rules for so long.

Kinda like Buddies arc, eh?

Is that picture the best example you could find of it? Because that's definitely a legal tackle

Well played. Don't think he went for any of the nasty stuff either - just played a top level tagging role. Well done.

He never does. I'm mystified how he's gained that sort of reputation for nothing more than being good at his role.

I've seen far more nastiness from no-name opposition taggers towards Hill than I've ever seen from Crowley.

Kinda like Carey's behaviour, eh?

.

You mean in that it is against the AFL rules to shag your mates wife?

Talk about sanitisation of the game, they govern off field too now?

My mistake, it's perfectly okay for Carey to shag his teammates' wives and girlfriends!

And yours, as well ...

Not mine, though ...

Its not illegal.

Its not against the rules of the game.

However the rules do state...

If a Player disposes or attempts to dispose of the football other than in a direct line over the mark, the field Umpire shall call “Play On” and the football shall immediately be in play.

Doesn't mention anything about an 'arc'.
